I'm personally finding it hard to find fights, but then i'm only looking for flashies. I've run into a few things and been instapoped (don't warp to cyno fields ),but if your not enjoying pvp your doing it wrong. Yesterday i got into a dofight with a rifter that beat me but it's all a learning experience. FW seemed like a way to get fights fast there were constantly fleets up when i joined the militia. I've also found myself a corp that's helping me alot and we went out to nullsec in mostly t1 frigs + destroyers, we killed a Heretic then most of us escaped the chase that followed. Playing casually with a corp that roams low/nullsec or FW seems to me easiest way to find fights and for incentive... you make things exploded

And as a side note you're making my point for me. For a rifter to take out the interceptor, the interceptor has to be bad and the T1 frig has to be excellent. Can try to take any t1 frig against my taranis but you will lose every single time.
Taranis is the only inty that pose a great threat to T1 frigs, all the others are good sport for t1 frigs if they have a "normal" inty fit.
I win more then 50% of my incursus vs interceptor fights, and I'm outnumbered in almost everyone of them. The inty has a gang about to join the fight any second which is the main reason I loose against inties. 1v1 I win most fights.
I agree with the other dude, you get more fights and good fights in a ship that ppl underestimate like the incursus, (rifter most ppl know is good these days). A curse would probably have to hunt for fights and ppl to gank, while you in an t1 frig gets fights thrown your way all the time, if you know what I mean.

Edited by: Tybalt Usra on 28/02/2009 13:52:42 All depends how the taranis is fitted and how the rifter is fitted - with the new shift in metagaming that the scram changes made there are no longer clear cut fights inside web range. I'd actually give a crusader better odds than a ranis.
Also you are grossly over estimating the average skill of an eve pilot. Most are ****. Time and time again you will catch crows with the simplest of manual piloting strats that are easily learned from pvp videos. Time and time again you will catch ranis pilots with ions and antimater that overshoot you and get pinned at 7km, etc etc etc etc...
For gang pvp then yes - fly the fotm ships with cookie cutter setups and maxed sp is the way to go. For solo work there is a hell of a lot more meta gaming invloved.
A guy from PIE (i think) said something like "be paper, appear scissors and rocks will throw themselves at you". It's is a very good way of thinking about it.

I'd suggest moving area's. It's hard not too run into 1v1s, small gangs, blobs. You just need to be fast on the directional scanner. A leeroy attitude helps as well. You will incur substantial losses for awhile until you get the hang of it. Have faith though, it becomes easier with time, and the adrenaline rush is enough to keep you going.
