As the title says, should i bother to train T2 cruise or just buy some CN Cruise launchers?

Ignore the stupidly unhelpful trollish response above.
I assume if you are asking this you intend to use them in PVE, in which case I would suggest the CN Cruise launchers, you get a great rate of fire for lower investment of skillpoints than T2, and good capacity- not to mention an easier fit and no drawbacks.
T2 launchers are only good for Stealth Bomber, really.

CN Cruise, but ultimately you'll want to train Cruise Missiles 5 for the extra damage anyways.

Depends, if you run missions to support say PvP, CN launchers. If you run misison as your thing, Level 5.
Personally I use CN when mission grinding, I rather train some other nice PvP skills ^^.

Buy the CN launchers and train for Tech2?
Seems like a good idea to me.

CN launchers are in every way superior to tech 2, so why waste time training for tech 2. Unless for some reason you want to use the tech 2 missiles in missions, there's absolutely no reason to train for tech 2s.

cruise missiles gives 5% damage per level, it is worth it to do to 5 anyways. t2 cruise are a trivial train after that.

You want to splash out on faction launchers, that's your deal... but I'd personally never do so. Hell, I don't even buy best-named guns or launchers if I can't use the T2... -

it's about cost-effectiveness:)
CN cost 40m more than t2, while only dish out maybe 1-10 more dps each, depending on skills:)
So for PvE, its about are u willing to spend the extra 250m for that extra 20-50 dps on a raven. Obviously long run it's better, but i'd rather use that money to buy another ship:)
Again...its also about are you willing to spend the time for it...but i think isk is the greater factor
My opinion only

CN missiles are 15% better than T1 in every situation. Precision sucks unless your target is really really fast in what case it will suck anyway, just a little less than others. Fury sucks if your target is mobile and sucks hard if your target is smaller than you (need painter to hit most battleships for full damage if you have mediocre skills).
So CN missiles - they are worth it. However you do want cruise missiles 5 and relevant missile support skills 4+ for them to be worth it. With low to mediocre skills I would stick to T1 in missionrunning.

As most have already said CN Launchers are better in every way, with the exception of cost. Their RoF will always be better then T2 even with maxed T2 skills. Faction Ammo i superior to T2 Fury because it uses T1 cruise hit stats which are much better then Fury.
T2 for PvP is cheaper. You can use standard missiles, but if a tackler webs a battlecruiser+ and you have a painter fitted Fury will hit harder. That is about the only situation where T2 works.

CN launchers hold more ammo and do slightly more DPS.
If you mission just to mission, go for it. *** Currently Playing: Trolls from Outer Space Current Equipment: VISAcard chain mail, +2 Amulet of Epic Whine, Self Banstick +2 WTB: +666 E-peen killboard stats |

Edited by: Mawlith on 26/02/2009 07:04:54 Using T2 missiles on missions will require some compensation for the rotten explosion radius and velocity. I've been fiddling with T2 cruise myself and am currently using an explosion velocity rig, a couple webber drones and painter to get max damage strikes. My 3 Hobgob II's can usually help out just fine with smaller targets. And I'll switch to Precision against cruisers if they are too much trouble to crack.
Sure, it's a little more trouble, but the missiles are cheaper and I am definitely finishing missions faster.
