I've been saving my pennies for a marauder for a while and went down to Jita to buy one last night.
Since I last looked they've shot from around 600m to 850m+ in some cases.
What gives? What's driven the price up? Sleepers? T3 coming?
(Did a cursory check on eve search and didn't come up with anything on this, but I don't monitor the forums every minute, so go easy on me, eh!) -------------------- What? Me Worry? -------------------- |

If I had to guess, I would say the war in the south with Kenzoku (sp?) and Goonswarm is probably affecting production in all sorts of ways.

Half the south burning to the ground might have something to do with it. Less key moon minerals hitting the market. |

Can't be that, those moons aren't reinforced for more than a few days, and no one would be stupid enough to leave them unexploited.
The answer is that there is no more cheated ferrogel -> less supply for the same demand -> increasing prices for T2 components -> ships cost more. ------------------------------------------

I don't know if people have heard about that exploit a couple of months ago? And then there's that story about that guy that went to fornicate with the bees.

Wow. Look at that, Golems to 924mil in Jita, Kronos at 800 something.
Glad I bought an extra of both when the scam was revealed. And look at that, Ishtars up to 102mil (+24mil), Taranis to 18mil (+9mil, doubled in price since then). The T2 modules I bet on are showing less of an increase though, some hardly any.
If I were a trader, and had invested more heavily, this would have been some ridiculously easy profit. Log in once in December (or was it Jan?), buy stuff, log in again in Feb/March to sell. Easy billions for no effort and negligeable risk.
Now I just got stuff I use myself instead.
Next time Gadget, next time.

Short answer is, due to several reasons...
Increase in prices of Dysp and prom = higher build costs leading to higher sales prices.
Easy really.

All T2 mods and ships are spiking like crazy, not just Marauders.
Unravelling the POS exploit shook the market as moon material supplies dropped overnight and just as it was stabilizing the bell to start BoB vs. Goon Round Gazillion was sounded shaking stuff up again.

Thanks all. I'd only looked at Marauders, and haven't spent any ISK on anything else for a while as I'd been saving it all for a Maurauder. Hence hadn't noticed all T2 related stuff going sky high in price. Doh!
... still beats the old days of BPO cartels though! -------------------- What? Me Worry? -------------------- |

If you weren't involved in the exploit, there would have been no way to predict it :P

But I didn't have to predict anything. I read about it on the eve-o forums. Mulled over it for a few days, and bought some stuff. Now I have +300mil / marauder (50% profit), +20mil / Ishtar (30% profit), +9 mil / Taranis (100% profit). The modules I got are now 0-40% up in price. I only bought for about 2bil, and I don't even intend to sell the stuff, even if I'd make close to a bil in profit. I'm just saying I should have invested more, 10bil or 100bil if I had that much, which I don't.
It just seems a bit silly to me that news of an exploit being caught, can be exploited so easily, and within all rules, on the market. Some people must have made bank on this.

What happens when you give a corp in EVE lots of cash to play with and expect a 3-5% return, ooh high volume items shoot up 20% in price, lol yer 3-5% looks good now huh?
