Hello, I was hoping someone could verify my thoughts on the new Retail Box. IÆll just explain what I think I understand, and feel free to correct what I have wrong.
Option 1: create a new account with the registration code provided in the Retail Box. This will give you 60 days of free play time and nothing more.
Option 2: Split the registration code into two PLEX codes. This will give you the options of: 2-a: create a account with both codes for 60 days play time and a free in-game ship, ect.. 2-b: create a account with one code for 30 days play time, sell the other one in-game and get the free in-game ship, ectà
Option 3: Sell or use the codes on a existing account. This option will give you game time or ISK, but no free in-game ship.
Is this correct?
Also, does anyone from CCP know when the Box will be available in Canada?
Thanks for reading, Tar.

I guess you are right...
Question is, how much is the box???? if less than 50$/Ç then its worth imo. Perfect price would be 30-40 but I guess the shiny box should cost something lol.
Also im planning to make 2alts (i just play with my main currently) is this a nice chance to create those alts or should I stick to classic registration mode?

From the Press Release
"Availability The manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) for EVE Online is $39.99/Ç39.99. Price in some regions may vary. Check with your favorite local or online retailer for availability and pricing."
Check it here: http://www.eveonline.com/pressreleases/default.asp?pressReleaseID=53

"Check with your favorite local or online retailer for availability and pricing."
Sorry, need to learn how to read
Would still like some comments on options 1-3 though.

Why would you not be able to use the redeem code for the free ship on an existing account?

Option 1: Create a new account using the 60 days. You get 60 days of playtime, the shuttle and the factional warfare letter of recommendation.
Option 2: Extend a current paying account or convert a trial account to a paying account: You get 60 days of playtime.
Option 3: Turn the 60 day ETC into PLEXes: You get 2 PLEXes.

Why? It's $24.99 (US) for 60 days. That's an amazing deal, even if that's all you're getting.

At a quick search it varies from 35.35 to 46.90 euro where I am. Either way it isn't really a good deal, if you don't get any of the bonus crap as a old subscriber.

does this hold true for the shuttle and the faction standing boost? can they also be added to current accounts?

and at $39.99, it's not a very good deal unless the ingame items & stuff are worth $15 to you. i'll still be buying a box to go alongside the other two i have from way back when, but it'll be for posterity and i'll only get one, instead of one for all my accounts.
until it goes into the bargain bin, that is ;)

You can trade these items in-game, but you only get the items directly if you create a new account using the 60 day ETC.

Well if your looking to start an additional account then this is a pretty good deal if your after the shuttle and fw perks. Its just that I don't really need another account. Ah well guess its up to contracts for me to get one for the collection.

Now what happens if you apply the "factional warfare letter of recommendation" to a character with significantly negitive faction standings?
Or for that matter what happens if you apply it to a character with significantly positive standings?

Going to get my question in here as well.
1) Getting the box will allow me to get the expansion without having to eat up my download allowance, am I correct?
2) Ok I won't get the shuttle etc which I did like the sound of, but the 60-day time will still be available for me. Is that as in just game time, or can I make the iskies from selling?
If i can get the game time (for either time or isk) I will get the box as it saves me losing download allowance.

1, The boxed game contains Quantum Rise 1.0.4 So you will need to download the expansion from the internet.
2. Yes, you can use that on your current account, or convert to 2 plex card and sell ingame.

What made CCP decide that only new players who buy the box should get the two items, instead of both older players who would willingly buy the Box and put it on their legit account?
I hate to sound so Cliche; But why are you giving newer players the benefit and the old players the Boot, So to speak. ______________________________________________ Haruhiist since December 2008

Yeah seems the new redeeming feature is only for new accounts shame really i'd like a t2 shuttle to go with my apotheosis.

It's just CCP conducting business as usual. Focus entirely on getting more people in for a few months while telling the older players to bend over. ____________________

Care to elaborate on my previous question? I'm just curious as to why older players cannot buy the box set, put the time on their account, and get the shuttle/letter? ______________________________________________ Haruhiist since December 2008
