Hi all.
I've been running 2 Premium Clients on my PC for a while now and they run fine.
I am thinking about starting a third character on a third account, and going along another career path. I was just wondering how well a recently new PC could handle 3 Premium Clients? (or perhaps 2 premiums and 1 classic)
My PC specs are as follows;
Core 2 Quad Q6600 CPU @ 2.40 GHz Asus P5E3 Premium Motherboard 4GB Corsair TW3X4G1333C9DHX DDR3 RAM ASUS EAH4870x2 2GB HDMI DDR5 PCI-E Video Card

Barring memory issues, on single core machines two clients run slightly worse than half of a single client performance, and three clients run even more slightly worse than a third of a single client. On multi-core machines, the drop in quality on adding multiple clients is less than that, because EVE doesn't really use multiple cores all that well for a single client, but running multiple clients should mean a slightly better overall load balance. EVE should run about fine with 1 GB of RAM, so with 4 GB you shouldn't have any serious memory issues. Since you have a quad core machine, it should handle even 4 clients just fine... slightly lower FPS, but that's about it. Three clients, and you probably won't even notice a significant performance drop at all.

You should probably be able to run 3 clients. The only question is - how well?
My top end machine is a Dell XPS 1530 w/ 4GB or RAM and I can run 3 Premium clients in Windowed mode but it lags a good bit.
Things run better in full screen mode, alt-tabbing between them but then I can't see all the windows.
I've got an external monitor in addition to the built in screen.
Mostly, it's a question of what you want to do. If you're just mining semi-afk while you watch TV that works great. If you're running a mission that works less well ...
I have some older systems which will also play the game using the classic client - so if I've got a mission to run I spread my clients out.

Disabling the HDR helped me run 7 clients with no problem (9800gx2, e8500) and more on a q9900.

A friend of mine could run 4 games (docked though) in highest setting with another 11 turned on and on the login screen with a similar setup so i think you may be good :)

Edited by: Alien XS on 02/03/2009 22:37:23 Im running a i7 quad core with 6gb ddr3 ram and dual 9800GTX+ cards and ive run 9 premium clients with out issue and a reasonable 90 fps per client in space jumping through gates.
So i would say you machine is fine up to 4 clients.

I regularly run 3 clients on a system roughly equivalent to yours, save your video hardware outstrips mine by far.
