Hi Evisioners,
After playing EVE for a while and running a corp with say about 20 members i have to say it's very nice to live the corporation live, but there are still some very impractical things..
1. If u have a structure where u have chiefs per division that u want to give a predetermined ammount of ISK to run their business, there is only 2 options:
- Either u put the ISK on their private account and then they manage it from there. - Or u have to give them total access to your corp funds.
Both scenarios are bad in my opinion, since there is no way to monitor a private account and thus from the corp management point of view there is no isight whatsoever on what the ISK is used for > this results in not having the ability to do forecasts, adjust strategy and many more things u really need to do within a corp, like viewing the history of purchases.
The Second option is to give the chiefs access to total corp account. although i have great members and i trust them fully, we had a couple of fights allready when people started to claim money from that account, while the other chief wanted to do the same thing. The all work in a shared wallet and that just does not work. It's also way to big a risk. If a chief suddenly used to much beer or something and decides that he now takes all the ISK and joins another corp...there is nothing you can do :(
So.....there we stand , we don't want ONE person to have to do everything when funds is concerned cause that would require him/her to be online all day and night. We do want to grant our Chiefs and Staff access to their part of the pie, but without handing our ass over to them...and without having to deal with in corp ISK wars everyday!
I think the solution is simple: The CEO or Director should be able to create a couple of SUB wallets for divisions which they can make, name, assign and delete and which are only useable inside the same corp.
2. CEO, Director and CFO are not able to give money from the corp account directly to a member! First they have to take the corp ISK into their private account and then transfer it from there, making the actual transaction invisible to the corporation.
I think the solution is once again simple: Make a command available in the member pane to give a member corp ISK. so now we have:
give money *add: give corp money *add: (dynamic menu) give "division-name" money
Now a staff member has the ability to add a reason and the transfer should be recorded in the account journals.
I can't imagine i am the first person thinking we could benefit from such a system. Many CEO's must have felt that they have no idea what the corp money is exactly used on.
Also my MEMBERS asked for this, it would be way easier and more FUN for them to work this way and help setting up a corporation. Or do we all want 5000 1-man (c)o(r)perations....
Do you guys at CCP all grab the money you need from the corp account? i guess not :) Hope it helps and that u will improve the corporation life to give u all a better chance defending ourselves from M00, which is kinda hard this way...
