I watched it long time ago, not bad. has Samuel L. Jackson in it.

Hellsing Ultimate (true to the manga, high on gore but funny as well) Elfin Lied (Very high on blood and gore but an increadable story about the best and worst of humanity) Code Geass (currently running in dub form, quite good) fooly cooly (what has to watch this to understand it) Devil May Cry (yes there is a mini anime) Ergo Proxy (Mind job type anime, you will likely have to watch it twice to get it) Ah! My Goddess (Romantic comedy but really worth a watch for the humor) Rurouni Kenshin (ive never finished watching this but its quite an interesting one) Samurai Champloo (think Edo period with swords and rap) -------------------------------- To borrow a phrase:
Players who post are like stars, there are bright ones and those who are dim.

Posting in yet another thread for fanbois of doe-eyed, short skirted cartoon women of indeterminable age (but probably younger than any figure you can decently think of), indecipherable plots, and bad animation churned out in sweatshops by slave workers.
Seriously chaps, if I didn't know better I would swear you were doing this to annoy me.

I don't see any big eyed anything in the cartoons I watch. Sorry what would be talking about?
oh well, never mind.
(but yes I agree with you on the stereo-type, because that's most of it)
oh, p.s.(the same goes for most american animated feature as well. lots of "sweat" shop work. but they aren't sweatshop people for that stuff they are collage graduates.
it just happens the budget is low and the art director sucks.
digi-pen in seattle and digi-pen in singipore both have the same classes.
the thing is, are we talking about china as a whole? because with the right arguement you could say everyone there is a sweatshop type worker.
but that isn't this thread.w

OK, in the interests of fair play and actually knowing something about the subject I'm posting on (not that this usually stops me), I'll give it a shot. Need a bit more info first tho; who produced it and what year did it come out?

It was created in 2003 by Gonzo. Just type "last exile" into any torrent site and you should be able to download the entire series. ____________________

Seems some of the ones I would recommend you have already seen!
But here are a few I would suggest (and are very good):
- Air - Kanon (2006 version) - Clannad
All the above are done by Kyoto Animation and the stories for each of them, I find, excellent. Good story and good animation quality all round.
A few more:
- Ah! My Goddess - FLCL - Lucky Star - Elfen Lied - Please Teacher - Please Twins - Gokudo - Chobits
And so on! Quite a few more but a good place to start. And for the person who said Kanokon... oh boy...
Happy watching! --- We want T2/Faction drone modules!

Try Utawarerumono or Spirited Away (one is a series, the other a film). I would note that Spirited Away won an Oscar.

Animu is rubbish, that includes that crap Last Exile. It is about a weird six yo girl that looks more high than sane, a pair of juvenile teens who stick together because their dads died, a psychotic goth broad whose sexual fetish involves rose pedals with a emo little brother, with self esteem issues (of course).
Oh, and a emo capt of a silly airship named something-something who has a emogothrage vendetta against said psychotic goth broad. |

The first half of the series was great. The second half left a lot to be desired.
The 4 part OVA series, that precluded the TV series, was superb!!! Samurai X Trust & Betrayal, is an excellent movie. Love, hate, blood, love, more blood, and multitude of other emotions in this series.

This one The soundtrack I got with the first DVD is nice.

Gonzo is the big nosed alien from the Muppet Show
Also Jajo, I bet you would enjoy any of the above three mentioned especially Samurai X. IT is rated NC-17 due to it not being for kids not because it has any form of sex in it.
As a final note I have did not see Vampire Hunter D up there but I may have missed it. Also if you can find them and you do not mind retro animation you should check out the Fist of the North Star series it. FotNS was epic back in the 90's.
EDIT: Also a guilty enjoyment of mine was watching the Yu Yu Hakusho series. I only saw bits and pieces and I thought the premise behind the story was great and the animation was decent.

The troll is correct, some people take it as a religion to hate anime. True, it has some horrid stuff, but what 'genre'/medium doesn't? I generally don't waste my breath on those guys anymore, they'v made their decision based on whatever they based it on. _______

For me personally, who went from a fan to a hater, it is more about how the general theme in these shows has changed over the years. Like how most shows I enjoyed had a solid foundation in its story in contrast to what I dislike about it now: the main character and closest supporting characters is generally around the age of 14-19, the main character has some issues like low self-esteem, superiority or inferiority complex and struggles at first to fit in.

What's your point? There's way more music I dislike than music I like. replace music with any medium and it will still hold. Why is it expected that if you like some anime you like all anime, when you wouldn't assume that for anything else? __________________________________

Fixed.
Also, i have seen more anime than i have liked than disliked. But i've only watched anime reccomended here or in places that i have been led to by looking up anime from here.
But i've only seen about 19 series and disliked two. Compared to the metric ****-tonnage oif anime that exists, hell just look here for a brief glimpse of how much anime exists.
Also to Jago, watch Haibane Renmei & Fullmetal Alchemist and tell me all anime's are about perverted fettishes for schoolgirls in overly short skirts. ______________________________________________ Haruhiist since December 2008
