You destabilize the neutrality of the channel and ridicule people trying to get information and support there. One of the channel operators is a goon, or was a channel operator. He frequently abused the channel by posting personal goon killmails in the MOTD and finally went too far by banning an entire alliance from the channel, INTERDICTION. On top of this he claims to have kicked CCP Greyscale from the channel (I have no evidence for this, but Dev's are welcome in exploration for the benefit of the player base). The ban on INTERDICTION has now been lifted and goons are now banned in their place. If An Anarchyyt wishes to apologize for these actions I will reinstate goon access on the release of the next patch. An Anarchyyt will not be allowed his operator privileges back. The general attitude of goons in the channel is off and they are consistently the only group that has to be reminded of the only 2 rules of the channel, which is to NOT discuss alliance politics and don't be an ***hole. I have been in hospital and have some very serious RL issues to deal with. I have been back in eve for 2 weeks or so and I have been looking at the evidence. I disappeared from eve in september so as you can see thats quite some time for things to go askew. I shall be appointing new moderators over the next few weeks - those that show their knowledge off proudly and are active will be approached. Even if I am not talking I search the chat logs for things to moderate what is going on. The culture will change. An Anarchyyt - say what you will about the guy is hyper intelligent, he joined the operator list before he was a goon and used to be very helpful. He has apologized for his behavior to me and explained his side extensively, he also understands that this is not personal. I am now in the Discovery channel too, to learn and to help. More options is never a bad thing, a monopoly on information channels intrinsic to game mechanics is never healthy. Join us in the Exploration channel. Unlike alot of people I judge people on far more merits than single character traits, if someone can have their flaws pointed out to them and grow from them, then they should be afforded that privilege. If they cannot then they can receive judgment. Goons will get a second chance, if they blow it, it really is no great loss to the channel, there are a minimum of 100 people in there with at least 30 constant speakers and up to 300 people at peak times (this is without goons). I don't think the channel will die anytime soon. As for those that don't come back,...it doesn't bother me or anyone else in the channel, it's bigger than us, I just want to keep things on topic and I moderate as such, power games will no longer be present in the channel. What's funny, is you call it a second chance. For so many others, Goons are already proven recidivists, heheheh ... true but im neutral with regards to the channel...so I have to keep my personal views separate when it comes to its moderation. You think my corp doesnt have an extensive red list? Even goons deserve a stated chance to prove themselves and other wrong. There is no third chance. Join us in the Exploration channel.
