Can anyone tell me if there are any tricks to boosting a lowered sec status back up quicker?
Sure, bigger bounty pirates will give you a bigger boost, but do say Blood Raiders give you more than Serpentis, measure for measure?
Also, are there any other ways to boost sec status. Somebody mentioned something about paying an agent - is this still in the game?

I think the skill is called 'Fast Talk' ... it gices u a +0.4% bonus to your sec status ... well, at least it's supposed to
You also used to be able to do missions for Concord Agents to increase you're sec status ... but that is ancient history now ...

You can no longer pay agents to inrease your security status, which is why I don't shoot in empire anymore. -9.9 is no fun.

Honestly, that 0.1 gain a day was ok thing. I worked both ways. You may complain about pirates being able to get their security status and all, but you could also fight pirates and not worry about sec rating too much.
Also agents did sweet things for sec rating, so all that isolating -9.9 people is not needed anymore with uber concord and sentries and what not.
New sentry guns and improved concord logic have fixed the flaw that was exploited by people with -9.9 so no need for that anymore. Unless "The Big Plan(tm)" is to everybody hold hands and mine veldspar in a imicus. --

find your self a 2 high, or 3 battleship spawn. Chain it for a day.
Went from -.3 to +.7 in about 7 hours. --

Edited by: FZappa on 12/08/2004 10:03:40 kill bs spawns is the fastest way atm . unless you chain tho , make sure to kill the battleship in the spawn first or you will get the sec rating increase for the 1st ship you've killed (instead of the biggest)
i dont think bloods give more sec rating increase , their ammo drops are worth alot more then 100 rounds of AM large tho :) -------------------------

Hmmm, so it seems that the only way really is to farm BS spawns. This is a bit of a PITA since my only BS at the mo is a Scorpion which really is totally not suited to taking out BS spawns.
Guess I will have to sell it and buy an apoc unless anyone can offer a good set up suggestion . . .

I used this for solo chaining serpentis BS spawns dominix and megathrons...
High.. 4x medium blasters with antimatter 2x siege launchers loaded with cats Med.. 1x named nedium shield booster 1x large shield booster 1x shiled boost amp 1x stasis webby 1x thermal 50% hardener 1x kinetic 50% hardener 1x named cap recharger 1x large shiled extender Low.. 2x overdrive injector 2x PDU
Dronex.. 6x Ogres
I run the med booster all the time. The large booster is optional when chaining domi's, get close in and webby them, then camp their spawn point. Somtimes I needed the large booster when chaining the mega and all the cruisers respawned at the same time. For domi spawns an afterburner is usefull to catch them instead, once you get close they dont do much damage.

Edited by: Greystar on 12/08/2004 14:55:41 Thanks for that info Octo - I will send you the first BS bounty I get using that set up, though I had it in my head that my scorpion only has 3 turret slots and not 4, even though I just checked on EVE-I too.
BTW - what are cats?
Thanks for the cider tip Overcopes - how long in hours did that jump take you?

Cataclysm cruise missiles.
You're going to need Fast Talk and a lot of time, good luck. You're going to need it.
Might I suggest going against Blood's or Sansha's? They're generally a lot easier to tank against.
