Hello
I have just come back to eve after almost half a year to give it a second go and still finding myself stuck in doing the same thing.
I fly Caldari Navy level 4 missions solo and that's about it, they are not difficult to do in a well fitted CNR so it just feels like grinding. I'm looking for something else to do but mining and industry really are not my thing.
I was thinking some form of exploration for isk and a change of pace although there are so many different kinda and it would have to be a all in one kinda thing, swapping ships is not a fun thing.
If anyone has any ideas of what and where to get started.
Thanks in Advance |

For an as an all in one Mag/radar/plexs explorationer
You can use
1. Tengu
2. Pilgrim
Pilgrim does lowsec, tengu does nullsec/lowsec I dont normally troll, but when i do i do it on General Discussion. |

You're at the point you're disgusted about the game because you'll find out in a few weeks you're still doing the same boring thing.
The best advice I can give you, and believe me you'll find a whole new game, is to move on to more exciting lands and this means WH's - Null sec - Low sec
You know alliances are the result of several corporations working together right? -find one where you feel you'll be fine with people in, move there with something you can afford to loose in your way to, keep your assets in high sec and restart building everything from 0 out there in those exciting places that are the retail version of the game.
Meet awesome people, enjoy the fun around the protection of what you build, go spank guys somewhere to get their crap and get yourself ass kicked, it's a hell of a game. You're just doing it wrong my friend.
Stop playing Eve online beta version 1.1 witch is hella boring. DL Eve online retail version and go there where fun IS about |

Meh, it sounds like you have experienced about .01% of the game. If you have a hard time creating your own content... then maybe a sandbox is not the right place for you? |

I like this answer the best so far, so order of the day would be say.
Step 1 - Pick another faction (I've been using missiles and shield's forever), so say... Amarr Step 2 - Get those frigate skills up for racing, pvp and the like, living in null/low.
How to find the right corp though ? |

I was in the same boat a while back. I was blitzing lvl 4's like no ones business. Then I went looking at the corp recruitment forum, and dove in. I've been in a large alliance as well as a few low sec corps. I figured I'll always have my mission ship to make cash again if things don't work out. My Paladin has been collecting dust now for quite some time, as I've been having so much fun shooting folks and getting blown up that I haven't taken it for a spin in ages.
Keep your mission boat as a back up. Go shoot people.
You eyes will open and you won't look back.

I had the same problem 9 months ago which led me to give away all my stuff and quit the game. Now I'm settled in a new home and back in EVE. I brought my best friend in to the game when I came back, so I'm getting to help train her up and then hopefully we will be going in to low/null sec to join a PvP corp.
Having spent almost 7 years being a carebear, and thanks to my friends liking for the idea of PvP, I am going to get a new lease of life in EVE. Perhaps you could do the same? Put yourself in a situation that makes you think, gives you that burst of adrenaline, that should make things interesting again.
Best of luck to you. |

Honestly, the things to do chart doesn't even do EVE justice.
That said, if you've been stuck doing Level 4 missions for so long then I would suggest that what EVE is about has completely passed you by altogether and I'm surprised that you did renew. Remembers, fly Frigates - Capsuleers are more tenacious than baseliner crews.-á |

I guess finding a large active corp is step 1 then...
I had started to train for exploring, is it a fun thing to get involved in at all ?
If it is not I'll start from scratch along the Amarr line but go as high as frigates then drop to low/null sec pvp. |

There's not a lot of "fun" to be had in low/null sec pvp, if you're riding solo. A large corp is not always the answer, small corporations have their advantages too. If you do decide to join a large alliance to do pvp, take a look at Goonswarm, people will fear you just for being a member ( a lot of people will at least ).
Exploring is not very beneficial for the wallet at the lower levels, it takes a lot of time and skill training, before you can get in the "nice" exploration zones, scanning out for hours on end, just to find gravimetric, ladar and radar sites all the time, kinda gets on your nerves.
The way i see it, you can have fun in EVE in 2 ways 1) by enjoying the game itself ( either solo or with "freinds" ) 2) Raking up a lot of "friends" and go and do stuff together, which should tickle your social senses. If a man speaks his mind in the forest and no woman hears him, is he still wrong? |

Thanks in Advance Easiest way to start exploration is a tengu in high sec to get a feel for it as you build your skills. You can carry most of what you need in your cargo hold and you have the slots/configuration abilities to shoehorn a lot on a tengu. Then later on add a covert sub to it and head into low sec......OR....skip both and head into null and do it there in an alliance. Exploration is a fun and easy change from L4s.
But yeah it sup to you to provide what you call fun. CCP gives you a world its up to you to live in it, kinda like life. Strength isnt measured in numbers but in force of will. For if one motived willful individual stands many will fall around him that are weak.

Do things with other players :P
Whether it's blitzing missions with other mission runners (In game chat "HelpMyMission"), or bragging about your exploration spoils (In game chat "Exploration"). If you're gonna do stuff solo (especially missions) you will get burn out and want to unsub from boredom. Even if it's just loafing and lurking in chat channels, if you're not making friends/enemies in EVE or interacting with other players, it's not gonna be fun. |

I will advice you to start looking at some alliances and please don't look after "reputation" blablah crap before you pick a choose. Look at tab "members" of those alliances you might be interested in and take a close look to each and every one of them, activity, focus, membership eventually take a look at their private forum.
Once you think you've found one who fits your interests, apply. Remember that giving a full API might be required and don't be afraid of this, no one can do crap with that but have detailed information on your Eve life. If your apply is not good to that corp then change your API and restart.
Never keep an apply to whatever corp asking you isk or assets, never ship your stuff in to that corp place until you become a full member. There are far too many scamer corps out there, and those are there to learn you the hard way to be careful.
Pick a clone without implants and a decent pvp fit bc/cruiser/frigate, join them (if your apply is ok), start everything from the scratch out there but keep your previous assets in high sec as an isk safety somehow. With time you'll probably bring them all to your new place but if things go wrong at some point then you know you haven't lost it all |

OP, missions (and mining, trading, etc) are a means to an end, not an end in and of themselves. If you never lose gear/ISK, what's the point of getting more gear/ISK? Find a corp to play with and to work towards a common objective with. Far more fun that way, and the user-generated content is what Eve is all about. Rifterlings - Small gang lowsec combat corp specializing in frigates and cruisers (all races, not just Rifters!). US Timezone veterans and newbies alike are welcome to join. Come chat in the "we fly rifters" in-game channel. Free fitted frigates for members! |

Hi Guys
I would just like to thank everyone for their input.
I am going to be corp looking for sure and get out of the normal linear outlook of things and think of what my character would like to be and make it like that, treat eve like the sandbox it is. Missions will be filler for cash and while training skill but no longer the primary thing to do.
Fly safe. |
