Edited by: Omniwar on 12/08/2004 11:28:32 I know this isnt some major change in the eyes of CCP but it has great affect on the players and the way players have been communicating inside corps.
I for one want the feature back for everyone to send corp mails since we rely on them and there might not be a director online when a mail is needed.
Might work in a huge corp where a director is online 23/7 but for us small corps this change just doesnt make any sense in my eyes and I would like this turned back to normal or give us the option to give out access to send corp mails in Player run corps.
Explane please why they should change it back or why they should keep it as it is.
I want a hot fix to change it back. Spawn of the Devil

yeah the change makes it realy hard to run corps effectivly. I've posted yesterday on this subject.
CEO's rely heavily on branch leaders and are not willing to make everyone a director (understandably)
by cuting out the corp mail function ccp have made it really hard for corps to manage.
I say just cut corp mail ability out of newbie corps and give real corps teh function back. Wayz: cmon X hurry up I aint got all day! Twisted Xistance: oh yeah lol.... anyway, you have got all day you benefit scrounging jobbless schmoe! Wayz: too chey :) |

Edited by: Scorpyn on 12/08/2004 11:56:08 It was actually useful, so I kinda agree...
However, I've read somewhere that it's just a temporary fix, and that it'll be improved later on, so chances are that it's already on the todo list (ok, the todo list could probably be used to wrap up the planet as a chistmas gift if you printed it, but you get my point I hope).

I WANT IT BACK!!!
In n00b corps it was a way to spam, it¦s gone, ok. It makes no sense to me why normal corps cant send corp mails without being director or above.
Hey Dev¦s, how about asking first before doing such a major change?! ---------------------------------------------

It was taken out because people created alts in newbie corps and sent corpwide recruitment messages.
I'm all for bringing it back in, but only for player corps obviously. It's a nonsense for people to have to be a director in order to send a corpwide eve-mail.

i dont want it brought back so everyone can send corp mesages cause it created way to much spam. I think a middle way for this is to bring it back so it can be toggled in the "edit member" section.

Explane please why they should change it back or why they should keep it as it is.
If its for small corps you dont need the corp eve-mail feature if you have all your corp members put in your addy book. Just make a new folder in your buddy list and put the corp members in it and you can just eve-mail the entire folder. Of course for a mega corp this doesn't work cause of so many ppl to add but I use multiple folders in buddy list for things as sending eve-mails to just directors, or just the miners or just the salesmen/traders.

Now here is what I see in this thread.
Almost everyone wants the feature back, some want it back as a grantable feature VIA corp menu like hanger access, so will we see it back or will it be ignored.
And coming back in a patch after say 2 months isnt really a solution because then people will have adapted and the change will be unneeded more or less.
Some fixes should happen via hotfix asap if they are intented to come in my opinion and as is clearly seen then the vast majority of people with opinions of the matter are against the change, will we be listened to by CCP? Only they know. Spawn of the Devil

I would like it back too for player controlled corporations only.
Therefore "spamming" from recruiters would not be an issue.

Maybe you need to ch-check your corp members and tell them to stop spamming.
Or maybe there should be a way for the CEO to determine whether or not corpmsg is allowed. Or like a security level, like All members are allowed, or you can specify which members are allowed.. áDunno though. it was probably just accidently removed. Originally by: Lomithrandra I would like it back too for player controlled corporations only.

Hmmm.. Well it should of never worked for NPC corporations. It's silly to remove it from player owned corporations to fix NPC corporation recruit spamming to.

Bringing it back wont be fair to all. So stop complaining about bringing it back and start complaining for an option that ur ceo and directors can click to allow their members to send corp mails or not. In a huge corp u dont want spam going to everyone. And in a smal corp u want good cmmunication.
aka
Omniwar, moo would get their good communication.
And huge corps like merchant marines and stuff wouldnt have to deal with the uber spammage.
compramise dont nerf.

I recall something regarding overhead and lag issues being talked about.
My corp rarely uses this function. But with a loosely run corp as m0o stated it was in a prior post, I could see the benefits.
Characters in n00b corps can't access a corp hangar, so perhaps make this feature allowable to anyone with any roles or hangar access within any corporation.
Please bring it back. --

Quote: Maybe you need to ch-check your corp members and tell them to stop spamming.
Or maybe there should be a way for the CEO to determine whether or not corpmsg is allowed. Or like a security level, like All members are allowed, or you can specify which members are allowed.. Dunno though. it was probably just accidently removed
Why? The ccp have already taken care of it for me!

As a workaround, if your corp is THAT small - open your people and places, add everyone in your corp to your 'buddy-list', toss them in a folder called "CORP", then right click on the "CORP" folder and 'Send to Group'.

i'm glad they took it off and made it for directors only... This btw is EXACTLY what you should do if you want to do a corp mail. From Ashes to Ashes... From Dust to Dust....

Why should I require my officers to add every one of our 90+ members to there address book when EVE has had a function in the past to send a corp mail? I would rather grant them a role allowing them to do this. We dont use corp mail much, but its nice to have. ------------------------------------- Quantum Industries

yes, bring it back!
In a large corps its importand for the high ranking (and not nessaceraly directors ) members to be able to communicate effectivly through different time zones.
I like the grantable role idea, thats sweet! ----------------------------------------------

Add the feature back but also add filters for flickering mail icon :
[x] Flicker for directors only [ ] Flicker for all members of the corp [ ] Flicker for address book [ ] Flicker for anyone [ ] Flicker for alliance communication officer (shiva feature) [ ] Flicker for none
The first time the character recieves a mail from a player and at the moment he opens his mail box, a little window appears to explain him the filter system.
a thing like that... add or remove ideas that you doesnt like.
No sig, this is making lag this forum, mine is 59 octets !
