I'm posting this on an alt for obvious reasons. Basically, there's a group of flashy pirates that camp a system nearby all day long. My corp and I decided to get a combat fleet together (we're industriailists, so this took quite a while ) to go scare the pirates off, and we actually managed to kill one of them in the process! Since we were so successful at driving them off, we decdied that we'd go mine in that system for a while to celebrate.
While we were mining, we saw a Megatron Navy Issue on scan, but it soon disappeared so we thought nothing of it. About 5 minutes later, the pirate that we had killed showed up in the same navy mega and blew up our Orca!! We knew it was the same one because that nasty pirate hadn't even changed the name from when we saw it before (it was the standard name for a ship once you assemble it with some other person's name in there).. We were all quite angry at this, since it seems like such a cheap way for gankwads to get ships without having to make them themselves.
If your -10, you cant go into high security space without getting shot at by concord, which makes perfecty sense to me. If you have neutral alts bring you ships and supplies though, it circumvents the good system that is already in place! -10 gankwads should be forced to build their own ships like everyone else, or have courier contracts to get their new ships when they lose them Their not playing the game the way your supposed to, so I think that this should be considered an exploit!!! CCP, please do something about this neutral alt situation.......it's getting out of hand with all thethings that you can do with them now, like the orca suicide gank squads. |

This is incorrect. Concord don't concern themselves with outlaws — only with perpetrators of illegal violence.
Quote: If you have neutral alts bring you ships and supplies though, it circumvents the good system that is already in place!
The ones you get shot at if you enter highsec with a low secrating is the faction navies/police, and they are purposfully designed to be avoidable and destroyable. In fact, the way they work right now, they're almost impossible not to evade since they kindly help you get to warp quickly…
In short: they're designed to be circumvented.

because your supposed to live with teh consequences of your actions, and if your -10 and have an alt that can just bring you ships there's nothing you can do about it because you can't shoot the alt. The pirate just gets a new ship without any risk of going into high security space and being shot at by other people and the faction navys (thank you for clearing that up), and the alt is immune to attack since he's in an npc corp and not flashy |

What's the difference if his corp-mate brought him the ship? Alt or no alt, you still got killed.

This. Also, may I point out this detail, that I only noticed on the second read-through: Originally by: Sunglasses InSpace About 5 minutes later, the pirate that we had killed showed up in the same navy mega and blew up our Orca!!
How?! That Orca must have been the worst fitted ship in the history of EVE!
That, or you're leaving something out of this story. You can push an Orca into the 300k EHP region, and even with a minimal tank, it sits at 150k-ish. How on earth does a single ship chew through 150-300k EHP in less time than it takes for Concord to respond? Or had you done something stupid to ensure that Concord weren't on your side at this particular time? Nothing of what you describe would have given him killrights on any of you…
In other words, it rather sounds like it was your fault that your Orca got blown up — not some supposed exploit on his part. So, please, what really happened? ——— “If you're not willing to fight for what you have in =v=… you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.” — Karath Piki |

If people destroying barges is runing the game, then how have 0.0 alliances continued to grow.. oh wait, they adapted to people trying to kill them. Sounds like someone needs to pay attention and use some smarts.
So you killed one of their people, then mined in their system. That right there is kinda asking for retaliation.

Who says he didn't buy it from a contract in lowsec? Who says he didn't force another player to eject from this ship when he had him scrambled? Why are you sure he used a neutral alt and not a corpmate or a friendly corporation?
Btw, you're an industrialist you say? You should thank that pirate cause he's been making sure you have regular customers buying ships, modules and ammo from you. Or do you think people just keep buying ships because they can't get enough? Not that many ships are lost in PVE you know....

They shot first at the gate camp. That gives the dead pirate kill rights on the whole gang that attacked him and blew up his ship. Concord wouldn't respond if the player had kill rights. That part is working as intended.
I am only in agreement with the OP as far as not allowing a -10 into highsec at all. He can only have entered in a pod and not a ship but it's using the game mechanice to circumvent the restrictions. Game mechanice don't allow NPC's, even Concord to pod players and, as I found out to my cost, podding someone with a -10 sec in highsec gets you a sec hit. That's why players don't do it themselves. Either Concord should pod in these circumstances or players whould not lose sec by doing it.

It bad enough being a pirate , as most game mechanic are designed to give you the most elp when needed ect so i totally disagree with this non alt thing, they are using the system to help, i mean it not like pirating make much money or anything so so what if they use a alt to help with there ship needs.
if they are to knock out alts for logistical needs for pirates then i say it a 2 way street and you only allowed to mine with no alts, you have to mine with one ship and have to leave you ore in space to go back and get you hauler.
learn to play
you got killed emo raging about you orca loss is not the place for this

Hello Sunglasses InSpace;
Congratulations on your pirate kill, and may you nail more in the future.
Alts can be used by pirates to help them do pro-piracy activities, this is true. It's part of the game though, a feature, not a bug. You can also use Alts to do anti-piracy activities, like an alt in a Heron to probe the safespot lovers amongst them, or alt haulers to haul your stuff without getting ganked by members of belligerent corporations, or alt logistics users to repair your ship while you kill them*.
Again I wish you good luck in your future war efforts. Hell, One day you might decide to start one.
*It's lame but it works.

They shot first at the gate camp. That gives the dead pirate kill rights on the whole gang that attacked him and blew up his ship.
In that case, the pirate in question was not a -10 — if he was, it would be legal to kill him at all times, and no killrights would be given to him. That would render the whole complain about -10s in highsec moot, since that's not what happened here.
So again: the OP isn't telling the whole story. ——— “If you're not willing to fight for what you have in =v=… you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.” — Karath Piki |

Because some people dont have a clue about game mechanics in this thread ill be nice and make it easy for you...
-10 can enter high sec, also with a ship. Unless its 1.0 sec space tha faction navy will even help you warp from gates by webbing you before they scramble.
You can pod anyone with -5.0 or lower sec status at anytime, anywhere without losing sec status.
Outlaws never get killrights as they are already flagged to you by default.
Concord doesnt care about outlaws, only the faction navy does. CONCORD cares about agression in high sec, thats it. Outlaws might do it more often than non-outlaws, but thats not really the point...

if you against alt for pirates because of consenquences then as i said before it is a 2 way street
you cant mine or mission with a alt either , since you safer in empire you have to suffer mining with your main with no hauler alt beside you or alt miners
you "IDEA" of removing alts for pirates is up there with why dont we just turn off the eve server so that my ships remain safe ¼_¼
