Aliens: THE best "lets kick some" action movie ever!!!! The Sentry guns are awesome, smartguns .... soooo much! A real bloke n beer movie.
The Matrix!?!?!? First one was awesome. What a great plot. Granted it got let down in 2 and 3 but 1 as a standalone movie is wicked!
Still, this is all my opinion

Worst film ever was Gigli, without a doubt. Complete and utter bollox. Closely followed by wing commander. Considering the rich background already provided by the games it couldve and shouldve been SO much better.
And as for aliens? get the hell out thats one of the best action films ever made (thou not as good as the first cos that is THE best film ever)

definitely agree that aliens has no place being mentioned in this thread, with other horrible movies that could be mentioned0 like alien 3 (we won't even speak of the one after that one- nor aknowledge its existance).
if you liked the movie aliens and have unreal 2k4, you may want to check out the alien swarm mod for it if you haven't already, it just got the best non-fps award in the 'make something unreal' contest, and it's a really great piece of work. very enjoyable if you're an aliens fan

There are some truly awful films out there, but real p155 poor offerings that somehow managed to escape a 'straight to video' release include...

I don't think it's fair to include films that were 'made for TV' as they are crap by definition.

So HMV consider Andy Williams and Dean Martin to be "easy listening" do they? Tell that to my mate Dave, he's been deaf for 20 years.

Jurrasic Park 3 was particularily bad. I liked the first 2 becuase they actually had plots. But the 3rd is just 
I was watching it up to a point thinking, ok I can tolerate this. I was just getting into it then the sodding army comes out of the sea and it ends. I was like EH? Did they run out of funding half way through the film ffs? What the hell kind of ending is that?

lol worst movies ever. Gotta be 'Escape from LA'. Most low budget, butchering of the worst script ever. Played at 2am in the morning on british tv i felt like i had been slapped over the head with a slice of lemon wrapped around a golden brick (2 coin a phrase) after watching it.
Also battlefield earth was funny, i duno if anyone remembers the bit where the ******* with the blond hair grabs that food gUnk and holds it up, and a lot of the stuff he is holding dissapears down his sleeve made me ***** up,,,

One thing I've seen from this thread is that some people hate some good films and other people seem to love films others hate...
Personally I have films in my collection I love that cover a wide range of types, for example...
Vanilla Sky next to Conan the Barbarian
The *****es of Eastwick (XXX) next to Hamlet
Escape from L.A. and New York next to Gladiator
12 Monkeys next to Hotel Paradiso
Freddy v Jason next to The Sphere
In the end I don't restrict myself to any single type of film, some film types are good 'cos they're bad and some are good because you have to spend the third time watching it to get the plot...
It was only a matter of time before people started coming to blows. I mean I once told a bunch of big Tolkien fans I know how I hated the Lord of the Rings and the third film was just as bad as the whole book Now I love fantasy writing but Tolkiens work is WAY too descriptive to be fun yet other people who like fantasy writing can't understand that idea
In the end it's each to their own...

"Freddy Got Fingered". All I can say is that Tom Green deserves to be shot. After watching the whole movie (I regret that so much) I didn't know if I was feeling ill because of all idiotic nasty scenes (such as giving... erm... sexual favors to a horse) or because of the movie SUCKING! Oh god, please do not watch this movie, it's awful! I for one didn't find it the least bit funny.

There are a lot of bad films out there, and quite a few truly awful movies. But for my money to qualify for a "worst movie ever" nomination it has to actually actively destroy the mythology and enjoyable foundation of its own creative roots.
Examples of this kind of obscenity may be found in:
Highlander 2 (and 3 and 4 and whatever) - Where the Highlanders are revealed to be aliens from the planet Zog (or some such tosh)
Matrix 3 (where nothing much gets revealed and we get to suffer the worst death sequence in cinema history and the cheesiest non resolution of core plotline ever - utterly unadventurous copout)
And
Starwars episode 1 and 2 ... (where the western myth in space mingled with archetypal coming of age drama and dambusters becomes the muppet show in cgi and Yoda turns into a cheap Sonic the Hedgehog clone).
