Old one was perfectly fine and not horribly in your face. If there was one sound that was NOT bad it was that one.

Huh? The new sound effect is even less visible and hearable then the old one. I have no idea what your talking about.
In my opinion it's not near hearable enough. It needs to be more in your face. *Shrug*

Well its horribly in your face for me. Almost a white noise like Hiss.
Soundblaster Xfi + winXP here.
The windy sound is much better imho.

escape menu, sound tab?
As for it still not working then, a patch screwed up all sisi sound in patches after that so to fix it, re-copy your TQ build and patch from there (big download though)

CTRL+ALT+SHIFT+F12 will toggle sound on/off.

I liked the old warp sound. But I'm glad the stargate's "shoot" and "uncloak" sounds got nerfed. Especially the "uncloaking" got really annyoing when 20 other people uncloaked at the same time...

new warp sound is great, I hated the old beeeeuuuuuwww
New warp has really nice bass too

New warp sound effect makes me feel cold after a few jumps.

make a fresh copy and apply the newest tq -> sisi patch

On a more serious note, I do like the new sounds (haven't heard the new warp sound yet though). They finaly make some use of the subwoofer I have in my room. It will take some getting used to but I do think it's an improvement over the old set.
