Are "You and your people" a native tribe of some kind?
Do you mayhabs live in tents, and caravan together to far away places? most importantly, do you hold regular get together's around the campfire, and can an outsider join? i'd like to attend, if possibly, as it sounds different and a somewhat good experience to carry in lifes bag.. i'd like to have my labtop with me though, or i migh t get homesick.. also, i cant help with setting up the tents as we travel to new places, as i have a fear of tentpoles from a long distant and deeply burried experience as a child...
i promise not to get a seizure due to that, and knock over any tents, as im making good progress with it together with my shrink.. yea, he doesnt mind me calling him a shrink, it makes me bond more easily..

Usually, although it can be good for a corp / alliance to use a third party at times, a well organised group of spy's could make a lot of money offering this kind of service to clients as sometimes you just need a professional so to speak. Sometimes getting the good information can take quite a bit of intelligence on the spy's part, thus the OP falls at the first hurdler, and every hurdle thereafter.
