ok heres a fun one
within the following ruleset:
no fittings above T2 Sub-capitals only, but you can use faction ships within these classes no tank necessary no gang booster or implants allowed EFT using 'all level V'
what ship and fitting produces the highest DPS? |

how ironic that the current no.1's are all blaster boats - if only this converted into game!

Not really ironic. Everyone knows that blasterboats have the highest raw DPS -- it's only their inability to apply it that makes them unpopular in practice.
Siege missiles are similar in many respects. |

That typhoon is identical to the one already posted. You just overheated it. The typhoon fleet issue you listed is also inferior to the vindicator, and is only higher because of overheating.
Edit: In the interests of being able to compare these things fairly, you should really follow the existing trend. It just makes us redo your work when you don't. |

yes.
original rules had nothing about overheating - totally my bad fellas.
I have expanded the original post as the thread has gone along to include both the overheating and the leaderboards. If the thread retains interest long enough I amy update it again to a 'top 3 in each class' within the leaderboards.
Either way id prefer no discussion about other peoples fits - these are all total glass cannons with very little connection to real gameplay, I just wanted a little fun and also a nice reference thread showing what the theoretical top dog in a given class was.
thanks either way for all the responses, keep em comin

I worked hard on this fit for a long time before settling on it, so I hope everyone enjoys it. Just because I am a nice person and I am feeling generous I will go ahead and detail the exact specifics as to how I arrived at this fit so that amateur EFT warriors can take note of the arduous process involved and learn from it. Take notes, classGÇöand feel free to send donations to this character in-game to show your support.
First, I had to locate the EFT exe on my computer, which was the single most time-consuming step. You would think it would just install in this one folder, but it's actually in an entirely different folder! In any event, once EFT was open, I had to pick a ship. Just about any old ship will do; in fact, you can follow the steps of this guide and apply them to any ship and eventually you will find a ship that gives you exactly the highest DPS. Okay guys are you ready for this? Here we go!
The first thing to do once you have a ship selected is to determine which weapon goes on this ship; usually, this will be a weapon that is given bonuses by the ship's hull. You can discover if this is true by hovering your mouse pointer over the little (?) question mark in the top left of the ship fitting window. Once you have determined the weapon type for which the ship hull receives damage bonuses, navigate to the Turrets and Bays list in EFT and select that type. You want to be sure to select the appropriate size of weapon, as well; generally you will want Large weapons only on Battleships, Medium on Battlecruisers and Cruisers, and Small on Destroyers and Frigates. Pick the largest weapon of the size class for your ship, and double-click that icon until all of your high slots for that weapon type are filled. If you have more high slots left over, add either Rocket Launchers, Heavy Assault Missile Launchers, Siege Missile Launchers, or [(Size) Neutron {Blaster}] to the fit to fill all high slots. Be sure to fit the close-range t2 ammo, even if it is terrible and never used in the actual game (such as Void, for blasters).
At this point you need to determine whether or not you will need additional power grid;, as this determines which rigs you will use. If you need more power grid to fit everything, you should add in two Ancillary Current Router I and one [(Size) {Weapon Type} II] ; otherwise, you should just fit two [(Size) {Weapon Type} II]. And then you're home-free and it's all down-hill! Divide your ship's Drone Bay Capacity by 5 to determine which type of Gallente t2 drone you need to fit; it's possible you might have an odd-sized drone bay, like 75 or 100, so fiddle around with it if you need. For a 75 drone bay, you fit two Ogre II, two Hammerhead II, and one Hobgoblin II; for a 100 drone bay, you fit three Ogre II and two Hammerhead II. Your final step also requires a decision, and that is based on the number of low slots. If you are in a ship with few low slots OR if either all or all but one of your ship's high slots are filled with your ship's bonused weapon, then you want to just locate the Weapon Upgrade damage module specific to your weapon and fill your low slots with them. If you are in a ship with many low slots OR if more than two of your ship's high slots are fitted with an alternate weapon, then you will want to split your Weapon Upgrade damage modules between the two types of weapons you are using. An example of this in action is the Typhoon Battleship, which benefits from receiving damage upgrades for both missile launchers and projectile turrets. A final note here is that, if you were able to choose the rig option above that has two damage upgrades, you might consider splitting your damage upgrade types if you're using a split-weapon platform ship like the Typhoon. |

Officer fit for fun - 3095 This is a perfect example of what I mean. With such a narrowly defined goal given by the OP, all you do is pick a ship, add weapons to it, add damage mods, add drones. I do not see what entertainment value this has. Everyone has EFT. Everyone knows exactly what is done to make a "MAX DPS" setup with it. There is no original content; there is nothing clever; the entire exercise seems intentionally designed to be asinine. |
