I had a few questions regarding the M10 patch and M10 alts. I plan on starting a Gallente PvP character with minimal wasted skill points. I never have been too good at planning out skills, so...yeah. Questions.
We will get x2 training speed until 1.6 mil SP, right? If so, should I work on maxing learnings first, or work on some bigger stuff? What would you recommend training from the get-go to make the best of that x2 speed period?
Also, as far as attributes go, If I remember correctly, we will be able to allocate our attributes to our liking (To a certain extent, no 0 charisma) correct? If THAT is also true, would I probably be best off to dump a LOT in Perception/Willpower for the sole purpose of having my minimal wasted SP Gallente Drone beast?
Lots of questions to be answered, but I'd appreciate it.

Basically it is a good idea to train int, mem, per, wil to 4/3 learnings first. This way you still get around 1.3 mil skillpoints at double speed which is a rank 5 skill taken to fifth level worth of skillpoints

Since its an alt, and you wont get bored of training like a normal player.
1. Start an alt with max intelligence and memory. 2. Train cybernetics. Plug in +4s 3. Train learning skills to level you will want, probably 5/4 which will use up the 1.6mil SP. 4. Remap your head to balanced attributes, maybe slightly higher perception/will but no charisma.
Then can start training stuff.
And also, lowest you can get attributes is 5. So lowest charisma is 5.

So that's actually a viable method of attribute choice? Max Int/Memory to get learning skills up, then use the free switch to Perception/Will/Memory? ____________________________________

Well, it would be pretty stupid to remap before you train int/mem skills like engineering/electronics/mechanics/energy management/energy system operations/etc/etc
But it all depends on what you want really. If you want to get your alt out there right away it would be smart to have balanced attributes. For long term it will not. You are all going to die!!
To bad there will not be anyone left to kill :/ |

Fail at step 1.
You cannot decide your attributes on startup.

Either you don't know that new characters get more than one remap for their first year or you're being hopelessly pedantic.

BUT, you get two free remaps...sooooooo
1) Remap straight away to 12/12/5/5/5 (int/mem) 2) Train Cybernetics to 1, plug in int/mem +3's 3) Train all basic learnings and adv int/mem to 5/4 4) Train all wanted support skills (int/mem based). Optionally, train cyb to 5 and plug in +5's. 5) Respec to 15/9/5/5/5 (per/wil) 6) Train adv pre/wil/cha then gunnery spaceship command skills 7) 1 year later, respec to more balanced attributes 8) Profit

An excellent plan for an alt. Nice demonstration of how respeccing helps older players much more than new ones.

Definately not a good plan for a new player - not for the feint hearted either, as the wait on return for an plan like this is months...and months...and months...although you do get all basic learnings to 5 and int/mem to 4 (nearly) at double speed, which is nice.
