Lets say you found empty hole that you want to sell, so next you write ad on forum etc Meanwhile are you just sitting in this wormhole or create alt for that or a lot of alts to be placeholders for all holes you find? And maybe can you give little bit more info which is good and which is bad PI? This character sits in the Wormhole and waits for a buyer. I do have a main, however, this alt is my primary source of Income. How do you handle the actual transaction? I sold a wormhole once. It was a one off. We discussed the logistics of the trade, decided the sum was too small to bother with escrow, and he ended up just trusting me with the payment up front. If I were going to make a habit of it, I think I would want a system of some sort.
I personally work through the brokers 99% of the time. Theres a good amount of them out there, but the one I solely use is Taggart . I have done direct transactions, but I personally don't recommend doing them. Do NOT let people know where the Wormhole is, without some sort of transaction taking place first (Broker Deposits, half the payment). This way, should they choose to just blow you up, you'll know you're getting the isk anyway.
The way Taggart works is, they take the isk Payment for the Wormhole and hold it. They also require a 10% brokers fee, which is usually split between buyer and seller (Ive paid it in full once or twice for lower end sales, and I've had the buyer pay the whole brokers fee, all depends on the generosity).
Once the money has been verified as held, they'll let you know, and you can give the location to the Wormhole. I typically will just give the Solar System, and sit inside the Wormhole until theyre in Local. If theres enough time on the entrance (Status on the description is not 'Reaching End of Natural Lifetime'), I'll pop out and give them a Warp To so they can go right in and check it, while sitting outside. Otherwise they can probe the way in.
Oh, and if I'm sitting on the Wormhole for a few days, I'll start bookmarking sites in it for the potential buyer, just to be nice. Can them before I leave. ;) Learn the basics of Wormhole Selling: https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=101693&find=unread

Awesome post, you have my +1.
I tend to use Taggart too, but their brokers seem to be missing in action after the CSM elections and Lucius Arcturus left his CEO position.

What I usually do is bookmark the entrance, exit the wormhole and drop the BM into the closest station, then wait for the broker confirmation and send the bookmark to the buyer. That way I deny any chance of being blown up. |

Some of them already live in wormholes and are looking to expand their operations or move. Regardless, on the rare occasion that I stumble into something they're looking for, I get paid a half-billion or more for doing that I was already doing anyway: exploring wormholes. It's time to put an end to CCP's war on piracy. Fight your own battles and stop asking CCP to do it for you. |

Its easy enough to take a quick stint into wh space and find a decent system. My last search to find a C5 or C6 with a C2 or C3 static took a month to find one that was unoccupied. Before when I was in a dedicated WH corp, we usually ended up spending 1-2 months looking for a new home each time we decided that it was time to move. Spending 500mil to have someone else find the WH for me instead of wasting an hour or so scanning every day for a month is a pretty good sounding investment to me...

Can someone explain why the alt is used to stay in the WH? Does this keep it from collapsing or something?
Oh and thanks for the guide OP, this might actually bring me out of the EVE gutters. Funny thing is when I used to explore all I found was WH and got pissed off, I can't find them now that I'm looking. |

The wormhole exit will collapse, and a new one will open into another system. This happens irrespective of someone being in it. Thus, they'll need to scan out the new exit, in all probability, when the wormhole sells. |

Nice guide.
I would like to add that it is a semi-passive income stream that anyone can participate in. It doesn't take much to train a spare toon or two on an account. Once you position them into a stepping stone system, a system that statics to the type of system you're looking to scout for potential sale then it's only a matter of logging in every 24hrs to probe the system for the new static, check out the new system and return if it's not what you're looking to sell.
I've done it twice in my time in Eve. What I find shocking is the amount of money people sell wh's for. I've been able to get 1.5bil on the ones I've sold and it kills me when I see people selling them for 300 - 500mil. Tells me that people do not even know the value of the system they've scouted. And since it might have taken them upwards to a week to find such a system, actively looking for it, they're completely undervaluing their time and effort. HTFU!...for the children! |

A system is worth only what someone will pay for it. Sometimes it's just the timing. If no one is buying what he's selling, a seller will lower the price until he finally moves on. Two months later, someone might drop a bil for it. Taggart Website Taggart Blog Taggart WH Sales |
