Deployment of the free expansion, EVE Online: Apocrypha will begin at 03:00 GMT on 10 March. We anticipate the extended downtime for the deployment may take up to 13 hours and we expect to be back up at 16:00 GMT. We recommend starship pilots prepare for the unveiling of that which is hidden by setting a long-training skill. During this time Tranquility will be offline, our forums and news section, the EVE API and Secure (login for EVElopedia, Account Management etc) will be taken down at about 02:30 GMT. Secure will return at 05:30 GMT and the news section and the forums will be partially up at 09:30 GMT to provide players with a feedback channel. The EVE API will remain down until downtime 11 March. We will activate a back-up news system to provide updates during the time our news section is down.
Apocrypha will introduce Tech 3 Strategic Cruisers, Wormholes, Epic Mission Arcs, New NPC AI, New Fitting Screen, Skill Queue and much, much more along with a host of changes and fixes to improve game play on Tranquility.
Patch Notes are now available. Patch Notes and all changes are also currently deployed on Singularity. Updates to the notes may be added should any further items be cleared through the Quality Assurance process. These updates will be highlighted with green text.

So the cataclysmic event that brings about the wormholes is clearly so cataclysmic that it knocks tranquility offline for half a day.
Can't wait!

Quote: The "Open Fitting" option in the context menu of a ship in space has been changed to "Use fitting Service". You can open the fitting service (fitting your own ship) if the other ship's owner is you, your corp, your gang mate or corp mate
> if the other ship's owner is you
That don't make sens.

Good luck with the big deployment! Frankly amazed it is still on schedule, well done.
I'm setting survey V and will probably wait a day or so for things to settle :)
PS love the new scanning system.

I'm not having any high-expectations about this, but does Eve Online: Apocrypha feature the walk-in stations and atmospheric flights that were noted in the 2008 Fanfest? Or are those features not available in Apocrypha?
Cheers.

No. Walking In Stations is for the next expansion, and atmospheric flight still hasn't been fleshed out as far as we've been told. ---- FREE Explorer Lead Megalomanic EVE Null-Sec Player Influence Map http://dl1.eve-files.com/media/corp/Veritefw/FWinf |

13 hours for deployment? That's a nice improvement. :) ------------------------------------------

"new epic mission arcs will take players on a journey through all four empires beginning with character creation. As the story progresses and the rewards grow more enticing, pilots will be faced with the decision of which side to fight for in the final battle." The feature page, dev blog and dev comments said it would be one arc only. have plans been changed and more arcs added?

Have you fixed the other bugs? IE The one when you clone jump? Or the one where you can't undock but just get a black screen? The one that tells you that you are overloaded when you jump through a gate so you cant warp or do anything but die to the rats or log?
Have you fixed these bugs? a simple "yes" or "no" will be sufficient reply

I'm somewhat disappointed by the patch notes. The first half of them are divided between plugging dev blogs and spouting lies.
We know by now that not all advertised features of the T3 ships will be implemented in Apocrypha, as the higher-end subsystems will not be available. Likewise, we know that the Epic Missions Arcs will be kinda...barren of Epic Missions at deployment. Being more honest about these "big features" of Apocrypha is more sensible than letting the Marketing boys have their way with it.
On that note, where's any mention of the new skill tree in the character sheet, Subsystems? Or the other new skills being added?
Good luck with deploying Apocrypha...based on past experience, you're gonna need it. |

Apologies if covered elsewhere, but ...
1. Will there be a patch to upgrade from classic to premium lite, or will we need to download full premium lite client ?
2. With all the changes backward and forward on scanning times + signal resolution etc, has the "elite" (all mods etc) scan time achievable (~89 sec iirc) (a) got longer (b) got shorter (c) stayed the same ?
Fingers crossed this is more like Quantum Rise and less like Trinity ...

I hope you've done something about the patch deployment. If you use singularity it still tries to download and deploy a 2.4Gb Patch (no, that's not a typo). I think you will find a BIG percentage of your user base will have difficulty downloading this quickly (not to mention the load it will put on your servers), and then even once downloaded I found I couldn't install it as it just maxed out my hard disk for 45 minutes without even giving me an on-screen prompt. Indeed it is covered, but now I am more worried. It advises pre-install of premium (ok) which I can do because my laptop just about does SM3. He then says that after patchday the client will "automatically" detect if SM2 version is appropriate like it does classic pre-expansion.
BUT I want to run the dumbest version so I can use multiple accounts / get good single account performance - will this be selectable after the expansion ? Or will I be overridden because the client sees I am supposed to be able to run SM3, thereby preventing me even running one account successfully ??? (yes I have read the forum posts of people who have similar hardware to mine bemoaning that premium runs like a dog, or melts their laptop GPU)
In need of reassurance :)

You can select presets, so you can use it for multiple clients. Also the Clients now share their resources, so multi client users will profit from it. Will run faster than multiple classic clients.. maybe even the SM 3 Version will be faster than the classics because of the shared resources.

CCP you are crazy? I have invested 1,280,000 SP in Astrometric Triangulation. Now you make from it Signal Acquisition. For what I need this skill, with new Scan Probe launcher, which have the scan time of 10 sek, over 24 days of skill learning for 2 sek faster scaning? simply fantastically
