Please feel free to pick me to shreds. I made this because I found other tools to be hard to understand and found that heaps of links to gather external data didn't work.
Its still in progress and any ideas if feasible can be added.
Its Excel format but seems to work alright in Open office.

Edited by: Aceru on 09/03/2009 06:06:11 Hm, maybe I'm just a noob, but what are the Colossal containers? I loaded up Eve and did a lookup for the item and the only one that came up had a volume of 1000 m3 but no capacity (So I assume it doesn't actually hold anything.)
If I am just a noob, I'd love for some advice on where to get this cargo container. I'm always looking for more room on my industrial. Too cheap to buy a freighter.
Edit: Also, high five for the spreadsheet.

After a look myself, i have no friggen idea . The cargo capacity was one i made up a couple of years ago. I'll remove it and update the first post.
If anyone else notices anything please let me know. Positive feed back from the other 15 downloaders would be appreciated as well.

Works fine in Open Office. This works pretty well for someone who wants something very simple. It would be nice to have some more options for mining ships. Just because a hulk shows up doesn't mean its going to strip a belt fast. Take for example a hulk with regular strips or using T2 strips without crystals, it just can't compare to a hulk fitted with T2 strips using crystals as well as 2 mining laser upgrades. They pull in vastly different amounts of ore so having some various options for that would be great.

Well simple hopefully means easy to use.....but I certainly understand what you are saying. How many different options should i have? Hulk with T2 and Hulk with T1 and a Retriever with T1 and T2?
Its only going to be approx though, as when on a mining op people are afk for a while and people lose cycles on roids that are not full....etc. but will definitely have a T2 and T1 option. --------------------------------------

file updated. if there are any inventors around that can try out the invention part that would be much appreciated. I don't have too many corp mates to help me out in that department.

hi there. in the invention page.. the skill "HACKING" is required. but not listed on your skill sheet.
AND btw.. i have been getting far below what your spread sheet said i should( in success rate....)
im lucky latley to get 1 out of 6.. and i have all the required skills for the invention to L5.... i think there is a problem with invention ============================================ If a star explodes in a system, and there is no one there to Witness it. Finally something simple calc to use but. Missing parts like:
Mining op calc: be able to select drones, implants, t1 or t2 crystals for each member.
Ore capacity, maybe include orca and rorq and maybe other hauling ships.
refining is good.
invention data is missing hacking.
would be nice to have a production page into the set then it would be perfect.
kepp up the good job and i hope you will update it soon.

i thought hacking was required for all invention.......i can just stick it in as a required one i guess.
as for your successes i think you must have missed the meaning of chance somewhere.......my invention seems pretty consistant over the longterm

i really need to revamp the mining op calc...i don't want it too complex and i need to make sure that parts of it that people don't want to use can easily be dropped from the equation.
i should be able to get the data for the orca and rorqual no problem....i'll stick those two in in the next update.
as with hacking. as above.....unless someone can shopw me otherwise.
i am currently working on a T2 production page. i intend to do a T1 production one as well. although there are numerous good ones of those already out.
Thanks for the possitive feedback.
an update should follow in a couple of days. -----------------------

First off, Awesome sheet.
i downloaded it to see the mining op options, i love how yours gives you the option to break things down based on ship class, i really loved that. However the only few drawbacks i can point out is, only 10 people, our ops consist of 10-30 people at times so that a bummer.
the other thing was the sheet is too wide, not simple to print as i print out all mining op data.
i think with a few tweaks you'd be on top of the world, there is a sheet i currently use, contact me ingame and i will tell you the name so you can see how theirs is dopne and improve yours.

Thanks.
I am taking your suggestions here and adding them in. i have made the mining op calc much more printer friendly (A4 landscape) as well as extended it to 30 members.
I have also made the options a bit more varied for Mining set ups. there is a spot for laser types, drones and MLU's. i hope it is still to your liking.
Should be up in about 24 hours. -----------------------

First of all: Quite a good work here. For corporation mining ops probably invaluable. Refinery table will be useful to me.
What's need to be done, in my opinion: solo miners often want to see, which ore is better for them to mine currently. What you need to do: a table where they enter their ship, fit, skills, gang bonuses if any, etc, and mineral values (say, from Jita), and get the table where it is shown how much in ISKs they'll mine in a hour for every ore - say, 35 mil/hour for arkonor, 21 mil/hour for Bistot, etc; also, since most people mine ark in hulks and merc in skiffs, it would be nice to allow them to see their isk-per-hour for Merc in skiff on the same page at the same time as isk-per-hour for ark/bistot/crokite in hulk.
As for invention calculator: it works okay right now, and it's completely useless for any practical purpose (I'm a t2 inventor/manufacturer, amongst other things, so I'm talking from my experience.) To make it useful, you have to connect it with t1/t2 manufacturing calculators for it to be practical; see "Invention Calculator" program for the right way to do it, also for what inventors want from the invention calculator.

That is pretty easy to do, and i can add that into the next update. Although they are never accurate, it seems to make people happy when they think they can predict how rich they will be.

i use it to keep record of my invention jobs at the moment. I had no idea if the other page is useful (the one that works out the success chance based on skills/encrypter/Meta level item) however i would say it would be more useful for people that are interested in getting into invention.
I plan on adding a T1 and T2 manufacturing sheet and am planning on adding capital ships to it as well in the future, when I get time. I'll work out a way to tie the T2 one into the current pages.
Thanks again for your input. If any of the other 100 downloaders wants to give any feedback, feel free. -----------------------

a very useful set of spreadsheets here ... ty
I have one question and one suggestion ...
What ratio / percentage are you allocating to Haulers in the Mining Op (and is this adjustable)?
For easier access within the sheet, perhaps a hyperlink to each sheet in first 'Main Page' and a hyperlink back (called 'Index' for eg) ... this would be more usefull if/when it grows.
ty again for the sheet ... keep up the good work
Many Thanks,

currently I am using the equivalent of a bit more than a T2 fitted retriever about 0.64 of a maxed hulk.....in the new update I am making it editable though.
As for the hyperlinks, I can do that, thanks for the idea. -----------------------

There is that, yes and it's very important for some people I knew; however, it also helps to determine, which of the currently accessible ores is worth mining. For example, you've mined out all ark in a system, what should you mine next - bistot, crokite, merc? Is Dark Ochre worth your time or would it be better spent mining veldspar for 0.0 manufacturers? The answer depends on current prices for minerals, and it may make quite a difference. Such calculations obviously are inaccurate, but they are useful nevertheless.

I already have a table showing what ore is the most profitable. It just shows value per 1000 cubic metres but that tells you which ore is most valuable. Doesn't tell you how much you will make per hour though, unless you work out how many m3 you mine in an hour yourself. -----------------------

This is a really good first cut of a production calculator.
I'm currently using Eve Material Level Calculator (MLCalc) which is a very handy little program but if you can incorporate a few extras then I'd be really tempted to change over to your spreadsheet.
An owned BPO sheet with current ML and PL would be great. Something like (from www.eve-guides.com):
BPO....................ML..Perfect ML...PL...Perfect PL Damage Control I....1...191..........20...240 Nanofiber Int I........1...1............10...240 etc etc (sorry, couldn't work out alignment)
Make that in a drop down list and save having to retype that info everytime the user selects the blueprint to manufacture.
The other thing would be a bit more work. A sheet that showed all the owned BPOs with profit would be incredibly awesome. I made something myself but my Excel skills aren't as good as yours so it's pretty ugly.
BPO.................Cost per item..Sell price..Profit Damage Control I....8,000..........16,000......100% Nanofiber Int I.....2,000..........3,000.......50%
I don't know if Excel can do it, but another way would be for the user to select a BPO and number of runs and then add to an order list. Would be really useful for seeing how many minerals etc are needed for starting multiple jobs.
Just a couple of ideas but looking good so far. |

Thanks for your ideas....i have no idea why i didn't think of the owned BP's sheet but it will save a damn load of time for me as well. Will put it into the next update. Hopefully sometime later today.
As for showing profit for each owned BPO that should be pretty easy.
Also, what do people think of the item cost sheet? (i have done it like that as i don't like sheets that pull data from the internet) could it be done better? any dislikes about it? -----------------------

Congratulations on the spreadsheet man. They take so much damn time I'm glad you've got feedback and that the version I've downloaded have the improvements asked for earlier in the thread.
Some options need to have a null value though, and there's a few typos around. The colour scheme although colourful is perhaps too "interesting" and difficult on the eyes.
Congratulations again sir by the way do you get the same empty feeling when a project is over and released and all there's left is waiting for the feedback, that doesn't arrive unless you shout out loud for it. -------------------------- Life is about memories the more the better. I've had fun doing this one though......i have spare time at work occasionally.
The only thing i haven't done yet that was asked is to show profit for all the items that you own, but that would be nearly impossible...well impossible for me i think. I have to apologise for the typo's and if any of the typos affect the results in anyway can people please let me know. as for the colour scheme i tried to make things standout. although i think i might go through and have the same colour scheme all the way through and tone it down a bit. (although i do like that green).
Well the work is still in progress. I constantly play around and find thngs that i can do...i might add a capital production page, even though fubars is excelent i can think of a few things that i can improve on.
Plus i am constantly making sheets for my corp mainly simplified versions of this for specific needs but i try to custom make things a bit more for corp members.
Thanks for downloading and for your feedback i still haven't got yours i am afraid.....will try remember tonight. Work won't let me downlaod it. -----------------------
