Sometimes the mission advice it suggests setting your drones to passive.
I have looked around the GUI in game, drone window etc. but haven't been able to figure out where you adjust the drones settings.
Could someone more knowlegable please advise how you do this , thanks in advance.

When in space use the drone overview for changing drones to passive. The drone overview has like the ordinary overview a tiny triangle,
click on that and change the drone settings.

Also you can assign a shortcut for this command in the shortcuts menu (ESC, shortcuts window,...). Then you'll be able to use this command for all drones (select drones launched from drone bay and use the assigned shortcut)

You do this when your ship is in spacew - look at your Drone window, notice there's a little triangle in the title bar. Right-click on it, then select Settings to set your drones to passive or active.
NOTA BENE: When your drones are on passive, they won't attack ANYTHING unless you tell them to - which means if you are jammed, your drones go from being a valuable tool against jammers to being just about worthless.
Usually, when they tell you to put your drones on passive for a mission, it means that they don't want them killing mission triggers accidentally. Be mindful of what your drones are doing, and you won't have to set 'em on passive.
