Quick positive feedback. It is downloading wonderfully so far. Faster than I would have expected and without a hitch yet..

Originally by: particle9 FYI: Steam install (if it matters) gave a incomplete/corrupt install after patching. I ignored it and opened Eve just fine, was prompted to patch to 84244, got same error, ignored it and everything is fine. If the installer says things didn't work out try just opening Eve before you start downloading the entire installer fresh.
did you manage to snag the error message? Have any other steam users have issues?
I am a steam user, and have not gotten to the point of installing yet, but will be soon and will update you on my experience. I can say when I first installed it from steam I got errors, but I just went into the client and deleted 3 steam files that were causing the errors and it worked fine (this was 2 weeks ago).
I'll update in a few minutes when I do this install.

Devs,
Steam user here updating you on the error from another poster. I get the error as well, but in the patcher, and I believe it is just telling me the patch does not match the server, which is to be expected.
Here is the exact error:
Client files don't match the files in the update.
This indicates that your installation is corrupt. Please reinstall EVE Online.
Upon clicking finish and starting the client, Eve loads fine and goes on to download the next small patch. All seems to work well, and it is not a steam problem.
Also, Kudos on the download speeds. Even downloading wireless to my laptop I was near 500kbps.

Originally by: temponita Very odd actually.
Downloaded the patcher, then the data 1.3GB+ Process then checks all the files... (good) Installed file... (good)
Finish...
OOPS! installation corrupt. Try again?
Sure... round and round we go! CCP must love serving 1.3GB files like this.
Ignore the corrupt message and wait for the servers to come online. It is not corrupt. After getting that message, the game loads fine.

Originally by: Hitman 001 tnx for the patching, got a ncie eror at the end and must now istal the whole ****ing client.
Ignore the error and test to see if your client runs. I am betting it will, since those that have had the error so far have been fine.

WTF you talking about?
New systems do not come with a system partition and a data partition. Mainly those experianced in IT have those 2 partitions. Its not common practice!
Not to mention that it's fairly common in the MMO industry to force downloads to your system partition. I can personally think of several others that do this. Anyway, this is not a forum for attacking the devs, rather a place to discuss actual issues with the patch.
