But seriously, before the Apo patch, I had perfect sound in EVE (when I had it turned on when I wasn't in a fleet) that sounded great and worked pretty well on my 5.1 surround. However, post Apo patch I notice that Aura's voice is confined to my right front speaker, the UI sounds don't come through AT ALL even with them cranked to max, and I'm limited in Eve total to just the front speakers. To say nothing of diminished game volume.....

Please put the old audio engine back in for the client. It worked (if not perfectly) pretty damn good. This new one is NOT a step forward, it's now a step back. Sadly, I've even turned off my sound for when I'm sitting in a station because the station sounds are too loud.

Seriously.. Who's idea was it to have the sound fade out at HALF max zoom from your ship?
First of all it should NEVER fade out, just muffle slightly, secondly how fun is it to only hear your own lasers in a huge battle vs 20 npcs?
I didnt buy a 128 sound-channel sound card to hear 3 channels, my own weapons / engines / targeting sound.
Thirdly how fun is it to not even be able to hear other player ships or even gatejumps, or even WARP-SOUNDS due to being 1km away?

Fix this now. I play with sound because im not pretending to be hardcore by turning it off.
I play all games with sound, im a soundoholic and sound means just as much as visuals to me.



Also:

Flickering white orbs in asteroid fields. As seen below.. Anyone else got that?
Tried two different drivers, 181.00 and the very latest from nvidia (non-beta).
I think this is the same bug as on SISI that was tied into Blooom, but really, fix plz, cant even mine or rat like this since it causes crashes occationally (at least it did on SISI) :)

I have to say your analogy is way off. Think of it this way - you have a car and you have a great plan, for only 15$ a month they will do any repairs and will also upgrade all kinds of things.

So your car works but the engine has trouble and if you go to fast the car will die. You take it in and they mechanic says "we know what the trouble is but we aren't sure how to fix it. We are working on it." Now the paint guy also wants to put some flames and chrome wheels on the car.

What you are suggesting is that you don't want the car until it works perfectly (it works fine and gets you from point a to point be no problem) and you tell the paint guy - No, if the engine doesn't work perfectly you shouldn't paint the body.

Moral - Just because not everything works perfectly doesn't mean that it can't look good and you can't use it.
