I'm new to this game. Is it normal behaviour for these developers to create a thread like this and then disappear without acknowledging the "feedback" they asked for?
If I wanted to pay to be abused I could hit up craigslist.

You better get used to it fast. It might as well be for our own good (i.e. them spending all their time fixing the issues). Of course I also like the idea of them having hit the local bars already several hours ago: "Good news everyone: Apochribba has been deployed. Another job well done!"
I have no intention of getting used to it. If there isn't a suitable response I intend to, as a previous poster suggested, write reviews about my experience.
They are probably too upset to respond, thinking that after all their hard work the users only complain. My advice would be the same I give to my staff: "We take money from these people, they are our clients. Treat them as such".
Of course the real issue is releasing a buggy beta because someone in management committed to ship date, gave the team an unreachable goal, and likely resisted cutting any features to compensate.

Wow look at all the glowing reviews for the box-set at amazon. Funny how they were written within minutes of the box-set being available. Anyone smell fish? |

Originally by: Arkinara I could not stand to comment on all this crying exclamations. If you people can not bring some constructive criticism then do not write anything at all. Are you so hysteric and can not wait until ccp has managed all the complications so DO cancel you subscription. It's that simple. a) constructive criticism b) cancel subscription and do not bother all the people who have to say something.
Yes, CCP put a great risk implementing a lot of changes and we love CCP for it.
Let me get this straight, you love CCP for:
- rolling out a patch that wasn't ready to make money on a box set.
- creating a thread for feedback, and 800 posts and 3 days later no one even acknowledges you.
- makes you pay for the pleasure of being ignored.
You and the fanbois have a serious case of stockholm syndrome.
Here's my constructive feedback for CCP for this post:
-Update the known issues thread instead of getting into ****ing matches with cranky users. -Update the link to known -issues when you log on to in-game help (sigh... it goes to QR known issues) -give the 800 posters in this thread some idea that you hear them, even if you think they're a bunch of whiners

Originally by: Callimminniss Prdsk I thought I'd given up with Eve, but lo and behold, after I cancelled my subsription I found that for anothetr 2 months I will continue to pay for this game that I can no longer play. The least I can do is voice my opinion (again).
"So if you donĘt like the upgrade, give constructive criticism. But if you all you are going to do is whine, then suck balls."
Ten months ago I paid for a one-year subscription. Less than two months ago I learned the specs are changing and I can get new hardware or get the **** out.
Black, how can I constructively criticise that?
You are certainly due a refund if you do not wish or cannot continue. Since this expansion is not optional, they have changed the contract. |

Edited by: Upsetta on 16/03/2009 18:30:49 Listen up guys,
The official issues list has not been updated, so apparently the screwed up sound is a feature, as are most of the other issues you've been having. CCP staff are happily posting in other threads, stroking themselves about how many concurrent users they had last night.
Almost 1000 posts later, have you heard anything back from staff in this thread?
It's your job to pay CCP to bug test their software, and you'd better enjoy it :) |

I have to say your analogy is way off. Think of it this way - you have a car and you have a great plan, for only 15$ a month they will do any repairs and will also upgrade all kinds of things.
So your car works but the engine has trouble and if you go to fast the car will die. You take it in and they mechanic says "we know what the trouble is but we aren't sure how to fix it. We are working on it." Now the paint guy also wants to put some flames and chrome wheels on the car.
What you are suggesting is that you don't want the car until it works perfectly (it works fine and gets you from point a to point be no problem) and you tell the paint guy - No, if the engine doesn't work perfectly you shouldn't paint the body.
Moral - Just because not everything works perfectly doesn't mean that it can't look good and you can't use it.
Uh, your complex "me too" analogy is complete and utter fail. Here's the black and white: CCP pushes a bug ridden patch onto users for their own financial gain, then expects those same users to PAY for the pleasure of being lab rats.
I can only assume that the "hey CCP is trying hard", "give CCP a break", "it's a free patch don't complain" defense comments come from people who quite frankly have no idea how things work in the real world. The same people who probably smile blankly at the car salesman and thank them after getting contractually shafted. |
