Yea really , as long as you're not engaging cruiser or smaller alone , torps do just fine (tp's ftw) quit bitching and train guns if you can't make it work. |

Well making an incursion atm and artillery howitzer salvos are hitting for 10k dmg. 10k dmg!!! My each salvo hits for 1000-1100 dmg. Yes I fire twice often but still I am very far away from that damage. Yes I always hit but I don't think artilleries miss half of the time. Lets say they miss half of the time; still the damage output is more then twice of my damage output. If they miss 3/4 of the time they still more damage. There is definetely something wrong here and I can't beleive some people are defending missiles. Yes they have some uses but not that much when compared with non-missile weapons. The low damage is a HUGE drawback not even mentioning ridiculous t2 missile prices and their drawbacks on ship. |

And I also made a mistake by saying missile flight time is not hat much issue. Yes if you never waste a salvo then it is not issue but if you waste salvos then you are in deep trouble. Missile damage is delayed damage. So you had to be very careful about not sending any salvos on a probably dead target after a few seconds. Lets say your target is dead at 8th salvo and you have still 2 (wasted) salvos on the air then you will lose 20% of your dps. If your target dies in 3rd salvo and you have already sent another then it is a 25% dps loss for you. You really had to be careful about when your target is going to be destroyed if you do not want to waste any salvo and most of the time it is just a guess. Therefore already low missiles dps becomes a joke after losing more missiles to defender missiles and wasted salvos. |

Minmatar could have cardbox ships but they have mastered matter-energy transmution it sems, just turning shell mass to energy before it leaves the muzzle and transforming it back to physical mass just before it hits the target. |

I know the Torpedo doesn't get the standard double weapon range increase other Missiles get. Even bringing it up so it's Rockets 10km, Assault 20km, Torpedo's 30km base would be a big help. Some Velocity Increases in some cases wuldn't be so bad.
Besides that the problems are mostly with the ships themselves. Give the Raven 7 Missile Launchers like the drake has and a 7 Mid / 4 Low Slot Split with a little extra grid for Torpedo's and a tiny bit more Scan Res and I think the Ship would take off. Caracal with more Grid for HAM's and Tank or HML and Tank without needing an RCU, full Drone Bay, Extra Low Slot and the HP Buffs that come with the removal of the Tier System. More fitting and an extra mid for the Kessie. Double Velocity Bonus for the Cerberus.
Lots more things you could do for ships that use missiles then you could ever do to the Missiles themselves. Drake and Tengu are built to support there weapons. Nothing else is built that well and that is the major problem. |
