I cant find the patching problems thread.
I've opened the client, downloaded the small patcher, it runs and after the initial screen, as soon as it starts to download/patch I get the messege saying : "There was a temporary error downloading the required files". I can click retry - same agian pops up forever, or I can cancel, then it takes me to the patch site, where I download the patcher manually but when I run it same story happens again, which is a loop that takes me nowhere. Solutions?

If you can download from the website on a different computer then write to a DvD/flashdrive then this should work.
If not you could always have a friend who plays eve give you it in the same manner if s/he lives near you.
Or download and write it at a friends house
If you have no friends and no second computer i assume your ****ed though

The CCP autopatcher, on failing, will give you a numerical error code (which is never explained) and tell you to download the manual patch program, giving you a link to another copy of the faulty autopatcher.
The only solution I found that worked was to completely uninstall the existing EVE client and do a full install from EVE_Premium_Setup_84244_m.exe ...

where are the installation files stored from that installer tool? so I can save the files for future installations etc

I am actually using this http://ccp.vo.llnwd.net/o2/EVE_Premium_Setup_84244_m.exe - the real actual patch from my version 75883 to the newest version 84244. Anyone knows if this is gonna work for me? 1.4 gig, i hope i'll just launch the exec and the patcher will patch the client using that local downloaded data.

Ive got/had slightly different problem. Im at 19% & pressed re-try 3 times already. The download has continued each time though.
