I'm tired of posting in the Information Portal and never getting a reply from CCP..
I have two computers here 1 Apple and 1 PC. I downloaded the patch 3 times for the PC and 2 times for the Apple and it was corrupted on install each time.
It finally screwed my old clients up, so I had to download the full install and try that. Well it worked for the Apple and it's working now. However I've now downloaded the full client for the PC twice and it still gives a corrupted message when the installer runs the unpacker.
At this point I still can't get the game to run on my PC. I know it's nothing wrong with my PC because I've seen other say they are getting the corrupted files as well.
I have to ask, has anyone figured it out? I'm not wasting my time downloading it again. I'm actually kinda ticked off because I just paid for a second account last night that I can't use.

I would love to know to, I have attempted to download the full version 4 times now spent about 10 hours doing so and each time I get archive extraction failed extract error wtf???

Dont worry, CCP wont answer in here either. ATM they are busily sucking on goat gonads to be bothered to reply.
Im now doing my 5th download of the patch. Ive tried extracting the content with z-zip to be told its corrupted, I get a different checksum error each time etc etc.
While im very happy for all the fanbois who downloaded alright, who are running the game alright etc, there is a fuking huge percentage that are not.
Whether its problems getting the patch, to crc errors, to installation errors (meaning a full fresh install like im attempting) there seems to be a growing trend in fresh threads complaining about this patch.
Will CCP do anything about it? Will they fuk. Will CCP answer any of these threads? Will they fuk. Do CCP really care about its player base? Do they fuk.
Right now I wish I was a goat so I could get some loving from CCP too.

Well at least I'm not alone..
It's obviously something wrong with their downloader. I had the same issues the first time I D/Led the game for the PC a few weeks ago. I kept getting corrupted files errors at the very end of the install.
The only download that worked then for me, was the optional torrent download.

it *could* possibly be your firewall/antivirus, and it adds a couple of extra bits to the end of the file. It doesnt affect the file as it were (especially if its padding) BUT it will cause the file hash to fail.
I have seen this happen with other games where the file consistency check it too "strict" as it were.
The torrent file wont have this issue, due to the inherant way in which it works.
Try disabling your firewall (temporarily) and seeing if it solves the issue.
I downloaded the patch today and suffered no issues whatsoever.

Wrong!! Ive dl'ed the full build via torrent and get the same issues with checksum, file error etc etc. Ive dl'ed the full client from ccp using the autopatcher .. file error/checksum. Ive dl'ed the full client manually, same bs with file error/checksum.

Not working for me either. Firstly the patch which was a very long slow download wouldnt run. I read that downloading the whole client again was actually quicker due to being better DL speed. Uninstalled and tried. Dl'd and installed with the new installer thing rather than the direct download of old. It was quicker but the file was corrupt, I was redirected to a direct download area on the EVE-O site. Another long download. Got the new client, tried to install and got the check sum error. Tried to run it again out of exasperation and was advised to download it again.
Feel sure i am going to hit my bandwidth cap for the month any time soon. The current DL i am doing is incredibly slow, i am very close to just giving up on this completley.

Well, I am getting the same error message, Verification Failure. I am hesitant to DL a reinstall as it doesn't seem to working for most of the others above.
Is there a fix coming down the pipe soon for this? I have a skill popping in two days.

I was getting the currupt messages as well but I just ignored them and clicked finish. The game runs beautifully

Na man I don't run a Anti virus on this system..and it did happen using the torrent. That's the last way I D/Led it.

I run into this quite regularly, of the last 15 or so patches of the game, at least 10 of them have produced an error during patching, requiring me to download the full build. And of course it happened today as well. Not with the big patch, that went fine, it was the small 13 MB one that decided i was getting off too easy :D
Its starting to get a little old, hehe.

Dear CCP,
I do find it very regretful that after using all three methods offerd by you to download the new client (using the installer-downloader, using the bittorrent-installer and using the autopatch program) I seem to be unable to download and install your client as it fails because of a CRC error and DELETES the 1.9MB download.
I have gone through this so far for a total of 5 times on three different opperating systems (Ubuntu Linux+Wine, Windows XP SP2, Windows Vista Buisness).
Meantime my download limit from my ISP expired on the nearly 10GB of downloads I did for the lol.
Since I anyways intended to download once, install on different machines (in order to save YOU and me the bandwith hit) and imagine that similar scenarios might apply to other customers of yours, I urge you to reconsider making a direct download avaidible via (a real, not fake) bittorrent and/or direct download so that downloading of the client can at least be paused.
I am quite certain that you might have already heard of similar ideas and problems and rest assured that you will have a usable solution in short time, I would truely regret seeing a game as great as this go to the trash bin because one can't download it in a usable fashion.

Man I dunno what they did, but I decided to start a new D/L of the full install before going to bed. To my amazment I'm getting 6.2 MB/sec..
Yes that's 6 megs a second, wasn't a typo. It just downloaded the full 1.9 gig file in roughly 6 mins.
However it was still a useless download as it checksum errored when tryig to install. However at least it's progress...

Have you tried this full client?
Other users that have had problems have reported that this works.
As this thread reveals we are currently experiencing issues with some downloads, although this should have eased off by now.

yea, I like the way CCP locks every thread points them to one big thread and then /ignore
Its like they are bundling all the people with problems into a box, locking it and hiding them away out of public sight.
this is the first post ive seen from CCP that even acknowledges there is a problem.
Im trying to download the full client from a torrent, not the offical torrent because like ALL of CCP's patching programs I just get "... has stopped working"
I've got 3 friends who have never played eve before wanting to try it.... GREAT START!

The in game patcher download wouldn't work on my PC or my partners... so we tried uninstalling my partners client (as it was classic), and installing from fresh. The initial patcher downloads fine, but when it tries to do the main 1.9GB download, it crashes with the usual Microsoft "unexpected error" and will not install. This happens everytime as soon as the installer kicks off.
Very odd...
I tried patching my client manually, and this did exactly the same thing. I will uninstall mine tonight and try the full download...
On an extremely annoying note, the auto patcher worked perfectly on my work PC, for ****s sake!

This MIGHT be unrelated but...
go to bin, and delete the memdump file.
vista 64-bit here.
fixed everything.
for eve wouldn't launch and this might be a whole different issue :P

I had the same problem last night (I'm running Vista 64-bit Ultimate here). I downloaded the patch, it failed saying corruption. Downloaded the full client torrent from Chribba, corruption. Downloaded full client using CCP downloader... C-O-R-R-U-P-T-E-D. Only way I found to fix it was to change the install path from "C:\Program Files (x86)" to basically a brand new install at "C:\Program Files\". Once I did that, the installer kicked off with nary a care in the world.
PS, on a side note: CCP, that bittorrent downloader app is about as useful as a blind three-legged horse; if it fails to install you have to re-download the whole thing, but it succeeds, it deletes the installer executable? That is just poor. Next time, skip your "primary http" fallback (which pulled about 2mbit down using my 10mbit ISP) and just do the torrent. I had better speeds (full 10mbit) and ultimately, was only able to install YOUR application using Chribba's torrent versus that dungpile you put out.

If it was just me.. then I'd concede that fact.. Even though the same problem appears on two totally different machines.. (Apple & PC)
However as you can clearly read in this topic, if you did read it.. I'm not the only one having this problem. I think there is clearly a issue with the installer.
thelung.. I'll try using a diffrent file path, to see if that works.

Have you bothered to look at the posts in the information portal? Some are 20+ pages long with people having this problem or others..
thelung.. I just D/Led via the torrent file (took 5 mins for full install so I can't complain on the D/L speed) but I couldn't change the install directory. I'm getting the checksum error when it unpacks the files piror to install.

Personally, I'm currently 33% into my 9th attempt at downloading, Here's hoping it works this time, deleted the 'ccp' folder in '/program files' on advice from the big announcements thread. But yeah, It's lucky they have an awesome game that I really want to play :)
So far my attempts at getting the new client have run like this :
Attempt #1 : Load eve online : damn, no autopatch.
vist website, check news section
Attempt #2 : Download small installer file : Installer file downloads, executes, downloads 1.4gig, hangs (I have to get the 1.9 gig full install, I was previously running the classic client on linux, The fact eve had a linux client was what got me playing in the first place :) )
Visit forum, read around for a bit... meanwhile
Attempt #3 : Download small installer file : Installer finishes download, checksum error, fails to launch the "something didn't work try this instead link" (but that's probably because I'm running the installer through wine)
Find direct client download on forums
Attempt #4 through 7 : Download 1.9 gig full client : Download hangs at various points, refusing to continue.
Attempt #8 : Still reading forums like a mad bastard, full 1.9 gig client download : Download completes, extraction process begins, extraction fails.
Round about there I gave up and went to bed, which leaves me with a new day and attempt number 9, wish me luck folks :)

Dont forget to delete your cache folder in 'harddrive', documents and settings, *yourname*, application data, Eve.
Mind you, I say that, i've wiped Eve completely from my pc and it still wont install ..
