Offhand I'd say the most common known scam is the recruitment fee scam. Oh and The Mittani himself at Fanfest bragged about scamming players for isk with fake Titans.

CCP really needs to man the hell up, they are 50% responsible for mittens getting to the point where he could get hammered and say stupid **** on stage at fanfest, yet he gets to be the subject of a bloody witch hunt by gutless pubbies on the forums and drooling mid-level accountants at CCP while I get to listen to dozens of alts in jita spewing hate speech and posting content in chat that would lead to a ban of most any other players if CCP actually decided to pay attention to something that doesn't get play in the gamer blogs or has to be reported to them via the petition system.

Really, like him or hate him, mittens got a raw deal and CCP's response to the entire overblown situation was abhorrently shameful.

See, there is this big difference between scamming (which is allowed) and cheating (which includes botting and exploiting and things like that). So I'd be interested to hear what evidence you have pertaining to *actual* cheating. And if you have evidence, you should also report it.

Anyway, yes, OP, you are indeed confused since the Jita attack was planned long before fanfest and was most famously presented as a reward, should he get 10k votes in the CSM elections (that was in early March, btw). Also, CCP is not showing them any support beyond thinking it awesome that the game they've created allows for this kind of gameplay (and rubbing their hands in glee over the media attention that will be, and already has been, created).

Go listen to the recorded TS session, it was planned AFTER the ban. Where Mittens said, and I quote "CCP threw me under a bus" end quote. The TS recording is on these forums and on youtube and soundcloud, go look it up.

This situation as well as all the recent and proposed changes proves without a shadow of a doubt that CCP has no balls or backbone. Claiming this is testing CCP's dedication to the sandbox is pure bullshit. This situation shows CCP doesn't give a rats-ass about the sandbox. as far as jita local goes, it's not my job to police CCP's game and I'm not about to spend my game time filing petitions when any reasonably intelligent company would post GMs in what would be considered a high density trolling area during this event

They are using a mechanic, which is open for anyone, of any size to do, suicide ganking isnt new, and has been around since the game began, this is just the biggest we have seen it be since the last hulkageddon.

As for CCP supporting it, why would they not? this game is a sandbox, shaped by those who play, anyone can do this, its not limited to a small group, it makes news, positive news, be it slightly ironic positive news, and shows that Eve truely is a sandbox.

So, CCP need only Goons accounts to survive on the market and to continue developing their game(s)? Everyone else is just extra money and CCP don't give a **** about them?
