I've been playing on and off since 2003 and this exact complaint comes up every time an expansion is released. No matter how many problems are fixed, people always find something else to whine about.
I won't even bother getting into how wrong the OP is, except to say the issues on TQ right now are a result of the expansion, will be fixed soon and everyone will forget that this little hiccup ever happened. The same thing has happened after almost every expansion to date.

Exactly. Despite the feckin test server. Is this normal?
Yes, it is normal. Unless you can think of a way to simulate 35,000 users on the test server. There are some things you just can't test until the patch hits TQ.

I don't have to think of that, CCP does.
But for record, they don't have to invent anything either. The client is already available. All they need to do is run 35.000 instances of it.
They'd never get 35,000 people to log into the test server at once. Besides, the test server would need a massive hardware upgrade to basically be a clone of TQ. If it's not running on the same hardware the results of the test will be useless. I'd rather have them invest that money into the TQ cluster and deal with the fact that for a week or so after a major expansion things are going to be a bit foobar.

Yeah I did, I spent god knows how many hours testing the probing system when it was actually possible to use it. Gave feedback on the sleeper fight that Oneir took us on, made a video of it and filed about a dozen bug reports on things I didn't see mentioned in the game dev forum.
Didn't bother with T3 ships except to build one of each to see how they look. Not really interesting to me.

Oke here's a wild idea.. how bout reimbursing that week of subscription fees?
How about charging $35 for the expansion like other MMO's?
