Edited by: Tuttomenui II on 13/03/2009 09:35:05 Correction Capturing Dagan is not last mission lol, and FYI station in that mission drops 5x Caldari Light Marines, and takes quite a long time to pop iwth a isshkur and 5 hobgoblin IIs.
Edit: Pictures of last mission, For sure this time. Drop off Dagan to a prison transport.

Edited by: Meiyang Lee on 13/03/2009 09:18:02 Very nice, so you get to face off against a Society of Conscious Thought cruiser... those could be quite nasty. And fight a carrier, cool arc indeed. I hope that when the others get added they're as cool.

It has been years ago since I last saw the SoCT cruiser model used in missions, but at that time it was quite common to see. ---------------- Mr. Science & Trade Institute

Just so that we understand could you answer the following : 1. I know this Epic is low level, but what would be total worth of these missions approximately ? 2. how many hours game time totally ? 3. did any of them send you to low sec or 0.0 ? 4. your final thoughts ? good for new players ? and vets too?or will they get bored with it ?

1. I salvaged and looted a lot of the missions that were combat. I didnt really keep track of how much I made, but without killing the carrier and those battleships I would estimate the loot, and some salvage, and the bounties to be around 20-30 mil easy.
2. I would say 12hours total play time maybe more, I think I did 1-18or20 yesterday with a break between for maybe total 6 hours yesterday on the Arc, and today I played from 8 am to 6pm maybe.. got to a few misisons after the one where i killed the carrier. then I took a break.
Got back on at 9pm and played until 2:45 am, I spent an hour I think just blasting the station in the secound to last mission to see if it dropped anything, thats about 1:35-2:45 spent on killing the station. I flew the entire arc in my ishkur with light neutron blaster IIs, and it took quite a while to pop the station I think it took 2300 round of null S, then I arn out and used iridium S to finish off the last 1/4 structure. it dropped 5 Caldari light marines. Then was maybe 15 minutes to finish off last mission.
So 6 hours plus (8am-6pm = 10), plus (9pm-1:35am = 4:35) plus 15minutes = 19:50 total. I left out the time I spent on killing the station. with that its 21:05. I am sure it can be done in less total time I took a few breaks to just sit in station to spin ship and chat to locals and link my forum thread. I helped a guy recover some 3 wrecks of his he lost a 2 rifters trying to salvage his destroyer wreck so i went and toasted the rats for him.
3. None of the Agents sent me to low sec, or 0.0. It would be fairly irresponsible for CCP to send new players out to low sec and 0.0 for a lvl1 mission arc.
4. Items you get as reqards, are destroyer skill book, within first 15 missions, a Civilian Analyzer, and the statue you retrieve for an agent with the analyzer that he lets you keep. Aditional items I got for going beyound the mission and killing stuff is 437 marines and a tag the carrier dropped. (both of which are on contracts).
I would say its a definately a time consuming mission so it give a new guy something to do while he/she trains those free skill books from aura and the tutorial agents. They seem to increase in difficulty as you go and a few of them subjest bringing freinds. With the exception of the taking down of the carrier and its fleet, I soloed the entire arc in my ishkur. So if a new player takes thier time and thinks to ask people to help as they go I think they will ahve a great time, if they dont ask for help I see a lot of players losing ships from not know how to properly outfit and such.
Vets, I would say the only value was the doing it to say you did, If I had spent this time on lvl 4 missions instead I would have made about 35-40 million for ever 4 hour period as thats how long i average to solo lvl4s killing/and salvaging looting afterwards. So isk isnt the prize for a veteran. I got bored a little with some of the back and forth between some of the other agents. you get sent to all 4 corners of the empire, *inner corners that is. Get sent to caldari, amarr, ammatar, and gallente. THere are 2 instances where its like a choose your fork, theres a 2 way early on, and before the last 2 missions you are given a choice between 4 commanders to give you last 2 tasks. A commander from each race. they are all 4 within a 4 system cluster 2 jumps from Arnon.
I have to say overall I had fun. I hope this answers your questions. |

Additional thoughts on what it would be like for new players. It does a great job of letting them know just how big eve is. Sending them to the 4 racial corners of empire.
I think CCP did a damn good job on this mission arc and I think it will fullfil its purpose great. |

Interesting...Curious what the final mission reward was, I would think with a 50 mission chain it should be fairly decent. Also curious what kind of if any standing gains you are getting for the missions. I would hope a few of them would net faction standings especially if there are forks to each main race. |

I killed that thing a few days ago with my Kronos, annoyed that that thing respawns in the next missions as if nothing happened. And there should be a big reward for it as well. I got 5 trit bars as salvage, by the way, and no marines.
Boom

Finished the arc this morning;
The mission rewards are around 100k per mission for the first 10-15 or so, then go to 150k and the last 10 were around 200k per mission.
Enemies are frigs, with the occasional cruiser thrown in. Bounties are low (The flying junkyard warped out on me before i even knew it was there).
Rewards: One statue (which i think is a bug, if the Doctor sent me out to get it, why didnt he take it), one destroyer book and one civvy analyzer. I didnt loot or salvage.
Did the whole arc in a myrm. Which is _not_ fun. After mission 10 or so, i began to feel real remorse and a wee bit of pity for the rats. Recommend a frigate or an af for the wimps to do the missions.
The epic screen in the journal is quite nice. Story was so-so, but i'm really interested in seeing what CCP comes up with next. The system itself has some real promise.
Final note: i dont think the epic arc is supposed to be done in one sitting

Sad thing.. if you killed it there should be some sort of "oh my god, this guy has some balls" trigger that continues in a small level-4-like-arc

remember guys ,this was specifically for new players,so don't expect it to get any harder than a level 1 mission.
Also no sending to low sec or 0.0.

Were all of the missions for SoE agents? How small/large were the standing increases?

sister alitura is the only person you can get epic mission from in current patch,so my guess is the escalations are all from sisters? just a guess ====================

You do missions for a few different factions, probably Sisters more than others though. Standing increases were tiny. |

So with my absolutely horrible Caldari/Amarr standings I probably wouldn't be able to talk to all agents in the arc? That'd be a pity

No, you do missions for Minmatar, Amarr, Caldari, and the gallente navy ontop of what you do for the sisters agent. There are a few agents in space you get sent to as well. In the end its like a huge cooperative thing between all 4 empires to rid the galaxy of that dude you hand over at the end.

Your Welcome Bimjo. This started out mostly as a, "Holy **** look what I did with help from some cool guys in local!!!" thread, but with you all adding to it and asking questions its turned into quite the discussion. Helps to have a CCP Dev comment to. Also Chribba "The great Lord of the Veldspar".
