When was the last time you played EVE?
For me, it was mid-September last year. Some cool BS PVP, a roaming stealth op, but yet again that year, it could not hold my attention. I spent more time carebearing in 2008 than PVPing, then in September I simply stopped logging in. It is a shame. So much stuff happening in the game, such a cool bunch of people, but my heart is just not in it anymore. Does anyone else haunt OOPE while waiting to pull the plug on their subscription?

I've actually have been playing it more as of lately. My thing is though is that I've been doing missions for a long time, so much I can sleep through them, so I'm gearing up for more because quite frankly I'm sick and tired of missioning. I've got the skills and the ability to fight I just haven't really put them to use like I could be.
So lately I've been gearing up on electronic warfare type of stuff and I've been given a mission objective by my CO to practice scanning things down tonight. Also gotta say I really like the new scan setup. My skills really suck in scanning currently and I've only tested it a few times on my scorp with no success but last night I nabbed a couple of gurista outposts on my first attempt in a drake.
Along with all that several corpmates and I have been doing mock battles with each other for training purposes. We really want to gear up for bigger and better things.

I actually haven't played since early December. Apocrypha brought my interest back and I've started playing again since it came out and don't plan on leaving again any time soon.

Played last night for the first time since before Christmas, and was getting back into it again. In 4 years, this is the third time I've left it alone for a few months, and then got back into it again. Previously, I've gone off on a new angle of the game when returning, and I guess that may be about to happen again, if I can make the space in RL without ****ing off the rest of my family.
This is my first and last mmo. Eve nearly cost me my family in the early days, so now this is my only choice, as i can hold down my addictive tendancies, in relation to gaming, after 4 years of familiarality.

I stopped right after I joined UK I am a bastard. I do jump on and mine here and there for the inevitable return. My play time was reduced for two reasons, one being because my computer could not handle combat fleets. The second is I tend to have a very schizophrenic lifestyle so trying to commit to a gang is not something I could do the past few months. I stay to keep the training going and hang in OOPE.

Edited by: Ricki Lake on 12/03/2009 23:09:58 I just change skills for the most part, only play 2-3 sessions a month, eve is boring. I refuse to waste any skillpoints on my 5 accounts though.

Edited by: KingsGambit on 13/03/2009 00:37:50 I've been haunting OOP unsure what to do with my subs for years now. Haven't properly played since just after Shiva was launched. I was quite a dedicated player till that point, but I absolutely hated the way CCP implemented player-owned structures, T2 manufacturing and the changes to research and so on. I've kept my skill training up on my two characters this whole time, but never had the passion back again.
I occasionally check other forums and chat in-game for a time and hear stuff about nano-nerfs this and new T2 ship classes that which I've never heard of. It was around the time that for me, the game's direction changed drastically in a way I really didn't like. Since then, none of the changes has been particularly great. I have no interest in capital ships, I wrote off getting involved in a POS cos they were so badly implemented and neither mining ice nor scan probes are particularly interesting either. I was so excited at the prospect of POSs that I was crushed by how they finally implemented them
I did try a couple of level 3 missions before the new year, to try and dust off my madskillz...after hours of working out what rigs were and why my old setup no longer fitted when I know it used to, I had to try again...went out in a Crow, came back in a pod. Those NPCs are a lot tougher...my Prophecy soon sorted them out...at least that ship still works how I remember!
Until Shiva the game was fun and interesting, after that, to construct anything was so much hard work that even a former number-junky like me gave up. I'm don't like the way PvP works in Eve, though I've never really done the whole alliance/0.0 stuffs. And lastly, probably the main reason, at the time, I became a victim of my own success. I did quite well in the T2 lottery and became a well known manufacturer. My mailbox was a mess, I got convoed all the time and I became chained to the factories and labs.
And now I'm not sure how things work anymore. From what I understand, battleships can't do a thing about frigates, my beloved Interceptor class no longer does what it says on the tin, missiles are (unbelievably) even worse than ever before. I detested the changes they made to caldari ship bonuses about 2 years back which I thought VERY unfair (the kinetic dmg bonus only...defeats the whole object of using missiles and no other race has that restriction on damage type)....sigh...too many things wrong.
I have subs with WoW and CoX which I occasionally play and enjoy, but I don't think Eve can ever be as good as it used to be. Jump clones (why 24 hours!!!???), neural remapping (why annually???) and FINALLY skill queues (why 24 hours from now, and not when skill itself finishes???) are great (I suggested the last back in 2004), positive changes, definitely good for players, but not enough of themselves I think. CCP always give something great, then are so heavy-handed with restricting it it's only barely any use.
I think if I did start to play again, I'd leave my empire life behind (but in-tact) and just get involved in some alliance 0.0 warfare as an Inty, BC or BS pilot. It looks like it could actually be fun if I can get over my hate of losing a ship and all its fittings. (I don't care about the money, but the time and effort to build/acquire/fit). Maybe one day, if I can find a corp who won't take me only for my industrial skills and/or BP collection. If I never look at a Miner II again it'll be too soon -------------
