I've looked around a bit, but haven't found a solution to my problem. I download the little 915K evepremiumpatch75883-84244.exe file and run it. Get the error in the subject (There was a temporary error downloading required files). I click to download the full 1.3 GB installer and get the 915K file again. How do I get the big one? I know about patches, but this has been three days now.

Thanks. Downloading now. Does the little patch downloading default to the C: drive? I know I have less then 1.3 GB free on C: (I know, I know) but hundreds of gigs free on other drives. Could that be the cause of the "There was a temporary error downloading required files" error? Sometimes error messages say one thing and mean another.

Originally by: Agent Unknown You should free some space...the downloader uses your temp directory to store the files, which is on the C: drive.
Ah, if only it were so simple. I've worked it out and am installing the patch now. Couple of things I've found helpful if you are trying to install this patch and have a full C: drive:
1) A little freeware program called SequoiaView. Helps you find large files hogging disk space. Eve downloads patches, but doesn't delete them for some reason. They linger in the cache directory unless you manually delete them.
2) The "temp directory" is actually an OS variable that can be changed. Right click on My Computer and go to Properties then the Advanced Tab. Towards the bottom is a button called Environment Variables. From there you can move TMP and TEMP to another drive with more space.
