For those of you who have trouble downloading the bulk data when your client connects to Tranquility:
- Download this file and save it somewhere you’ll be able to find it again. The desktop is always a good choice.
- Using the My Computer link on your desktop or the link in your start menu, open your EVE Online install folder. This is by default located under C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE.
- Open the .zip file you downloaded in the first step. This will open a second window with a single “bulkdata” directory listed within it.
- Drag and drop the bulkdata folder from the .zip file to your EVE install.
- If you are asked to confirm the overwrite you should do so.
You have now overwritten your old, out of date bulk data with the information needed for Apocrypha. Close the windows you opened and you should have no problems running EVE now.
And yes we know we had a thread on this already, but these instructions are a better and a fresh thread lets us spot any issues you may have quicker.

Yup, did exactly that, step by step. Still can't login.
After completing all those steps, I get this box when I log in: There is a new build available. Would you like to download it now? The build is 1390.6 MB in size.
I hit yes, and it pulls up the downloader. It downloads fine, but when I try to install it, the thing doesn't even start step 1/3 before it kicks an error at me saying "There was a temporary error downloading the required files."
Fail.

I am on XP Pro, the old version worked for me fine in premium mode. Don't think that is the issue.
I just paid my money 12 days ago for a 3 month membership to this game, the first time I have ever done so for on-line gaming.
Have followed the above instructions and still I can't play the game? I am wondering if it is all too much to continue with my membership! If I, an ICT professional can't work out why a company would do this to their client's and thus their revenue....
Maybe I should have chosen a Level V Industry training (25days), because that is likely how long we will all be waiting for a solution?

you silly one :)
Ofcourse if you don't have a problem downloading the patch the normal way, there is no need to download this. It's just another way to acquire the neccesary data for the patching process.

If you are not having any problems, then don't follow these instructions. These guidelines are only applicable if you are having problems acquiring bulk data.

That message is not a problem with acquiring bulk data, since it indicates you are not running the latest client version (bulk data is acquired later during the login process).
If you are having problem updating using the online patches or the online installs, I would recommend that you try the following options:
(A) Have you tried downloading the offline patches using your browser? What patch you should download depends on what version you are currently at (latest is build 84244). The version number of your client is displayed on the login screen in either the bottom left corner or the top left corner (depending on the version).
If you already have Quantum Rise 1.0.5 then you should download this file http://ccp.vo.llnwd.net/o2/evepremiumpatch75883-84244_m.exe (1.35 GB) and apply to your installation. Once you have applied it and start the client again it will probably offer you another smaller patch, about 13 MB or so, to finalise the process.
(B) Have you tried to download the offline install using your browser? It is available here http://ccp.vo.llnwd.net/o2/EVE_Premium_Setup_84244_m.exe.

There is no separate "Premium Lite" client, as there were seperate Premium and Classic clients before. There is just a single new client (online install / offline install / bittorrent install) and it automatically detects the capabilities of your hardware.

Hello,
After a 10month break i've decided to play EVE again. When i did some reading i realized i was already 2 expansions late (3 if you count Empyrian Age, stopped 3-4 days after it was released), i thought i was going to have alot of problems patching.
But, after logging in, followed the prompt to download a patch, which was around 1.3-1.5GB, followed by a 13MB one, both of which ran smooth. The 1st bump i ran into was acquiring the bulk data, stuck at 20ish iirc.
I followed the prompts put on the login screen, downloaded then patched it thru(which im sure i got right o.O), and got the game running...for approximately 9 minutes before i was disconnected. Tried many times back to back to no avail. Login fails at "Entering game as Magnarion" (bar fills up, music changes from login screen music to ingame music and is suspended there forever." <--forever being more than 30 minutes.
This went on for around 10 hours, I finally logged in again just, and again, after 9-10 minutes of game play (with substantial amount of lag in the process) I was booted from the server again, then everything reverted back to what i faced in the morning- login failing/freezing at "entering game" part.
No idea what went wrong. Is there a problem with my computer? or did it patch wrongly? or is it the server itself? Would really appreciate it if someone could shed some light : /
P/s: Did anyone manage to get some smooth, uninterrupted gameplay since the release? or is everyone running around like headless chickens?

I've been having some trouble with the new patch; I've tried to remedy it myself, but its been beyond my technical capability (which isnt very much anyways), so here it is:
I can open EVE, and I can sometimes log in; I dont have a problem acquiring the bulk data, and I have already followed Wrangler's guide to obtain the new version of it. After logging in, I can chat, but if I open my ship browser (I cant really tell if its specific to that browser, but I dont believe it is), my computer will completely freeze and fail to respond to any commands i.e. Alt F4, ctrl+alt+dlt, Windows, etc; if I wait, the "blue screen of death" sometimes appears. I will have to physically disconnect it from the power source or turn it off, and after it has restarted i recieve the message: "the system has recovered from a serious error" etc. I have already uninstalled and reinstalled EVE three times, and it has not solved the problem. After searching for the cause, I discovered that if I open EVE's property menu (right click its shortcut) and attempt to change the tab from Shortcut, I get a message that "the folder specified in the start box is not valid". Naturally, I think this may be the cause of my problem, but EVE will start and run normally until after I log in, though occasionally it will freeze on the load screen after I've selected my character but before the actual game displays. My computer ran EVE perfectly until the update, so I'm not sure why this problem would arise now. Thanks in advance for any advice And sorry this was so long

Game has been running fine, forever :) Even after patch. My pc is an antique, so not like i'm running top notch gear, its 4 years old :)
Not even CCP are perfect, they are though the best provider of support and quick, well done patching in the mmo industry, so give them a bit of slack.
All mmo's have post patch problems.

EVE for some unknown reason, paying customers dont seem to be of importance to you, however i am once again asking for help with my issue. I have petitioned you severel times but you dont reply.
pre patch everything was runing great, but post past, i can not hear most sounds including EVE's voice (general voice as i know tutorial voice is exstint), jukebox and even mining/tirret sounds. My settings are all correct including volume levels. i appreciate that you get many petitions, however your being paid by me and people like me to provide a service that resolves our issues, so do so. Email my a resolve please.

I am having similar issues....I am basically stuck where I can log in and I am coming out of warp into a battle and then it locks up, screen goes black and computer crashes. I am not tech savvy at all and my only consolation is knowing that I am not the only one who is suffering through this. Has been happening ever since I downloaded Apocrypha. Not impressed as I am a new player. I think we need better direction as to what they are doing to fix these issues.

I followed the steps to the tee, after it loads up and runs bulk and auth. my system crashs and restarts its self then pops a severe fatal error. I've been playing for 3 years this June and this is getting ******ed, if its not broke stop tring to fix it. The patches are always getting worse and now this? Is CCP gonna reimburse me since june of 06, $15.00 per month? I've invested way to much time in this game for this to happen, how bout you start sending paying customers disks with everything ready to go, not like a CD cost that much considering we pay you 15.00 a month. Is been 4 days and I know my starbases are screaming, are you going to replace equipment lost aswhile if this ever gets fixed?

Up until the patch I ran 2 clients simultaneously. after updating, trying the bulk data fix, uninstalling, installing full load. I crash to BSOD on processing bulk data. It appears ccp is trying to access a video memory location that is not available causing the nvidia dll to fail. I'm fine on TQ, but i'm having trouble getting onto SiSi.
I copied my Apocrypha TQ client, did all the neccessary things to turn it into a SiSi client but now i get stuck immediately on Acquiring Bulk Data 37/39.
It can't be a problem with my bulk data, because i downloaded your second bulk data fix and used it for my TQ client. So when i copied my TQ folder to make a SiSi client, the "fixed" bulk data was included. I have also tried running it as Administrator, but that didn't help.
Any suggestions?

My 2 cents...
The first Apocrypha install try was a failure because one of my Eve-directory (I use 2 acc's) number 1 must have been corrupt somehow. I was unable to install the new client patch even I was able to play EvE before without problems. I then applied the patch on the second directory copy of EvE and it works.
I can only recomment to everyone having problems to make an FULL INSTALL, to avoid strange problems. á Curse Absolution Prorator T2 Mods/Drones/Ammo Manufacturer

if they want a self installer at least make it so u dont have to start again if u get dc. Just save the file to harddrive and kick off where it left off when u dc from net. Good for people on slower machines

it took several hours to down load but i had no trouble with it. it loads like it should and seems to have very few glitches so far. the reason im writing this is because ive chewed out the ccp staff many times already and to see a good patch i must commend those same individuals. i would suggest that you defrag your computer before down loading patch.

Hi, I had the issue where the bulk data thing wasn't working.. At first, anyway. I followed the directions above and put in the new bulk data, overwriting the old. I opened EVE again and it asked to download a small patch. I did so, it shut down and the installer ran, but then it suddenly stopped and I got this message:
Download failed with the following error: Download job not found.

1 'problem' with that, I occasionally run 4 clients on 1 system, how will it work then ? The first client that I start will detect a high end system with lots of resources and launches as premium, the second instance of the client will still see that high end system with a bit less resources and selects a bit less fancy options etc etc ?
