Edited by: Estios on 16/08/2004 15:45:41 American Beauty is mine (although Shawshank is a masterpiece too)
I'm a part time film critic so Ive seen a lot of good movies .....and whole load more bad ones.
Oh I guess I should have said Harry Potter
So HMV consider Andy Williams and Dean Martin to be "easy listening" do they? Tell that to my mate Dave, he's been deaf for 20 years.

i'll have lots:
Taxi Driver One flew over the cuckoos nest A bridge too far Citizen Kane (can't believe nobody has mentioned this yet) Saving private ryan Shawshank redemption The seven samurai The good the bad and the ugly Alien
i could go on forever, but if i had to pick one i'd go for the only film that ever made be blub - a sci-fi classic called Silent Running... ok i was 6 years old when it came out in 1973 but when the little robot dies....
if you havent seen it you MUST :-) and the music is great
Disclaimer - i havent seen it since!!! |

Yeah, I tend to love the films that place emphasis on storytelling and character developments myself over the flashy effects. Some examples of mine include: Trainspotting, Lock, stock and two smoking barrels, Snatch, Reservoir dogs, Memento, Usual suspects, a movie with a good flowing plot/twist was spygame with robert redford and brad pitt, 12 monkeys. To name just a few. I can also state one of the best movies I have ever seen was A beautiful mind with russell crowe.
