Since an 'explorer' should never be arguing to have LESS to explore, no claim to remove ANY sites from w-space can be substantial. If you simply want less grav sites and more radar/magneto/ladar sites because the latter are more 'worthwhile' or worth more isk, then it should be fairly obvious why they are more rare. To that end, if you are only interested in grinding the best isk/hour, then why would you venture into the 'unknown'? Stick to the 'known' ways of grinding the best isk.

/This. Read it. Digest it. Google the words you don't understand.
Also, mining in w-space is completely feasible. Will it be as efficient as mining in 0.0? Obviously not. But you don't have to be a 0.0 alliance or a pet to get your hands on w-space minerals. Mining in w-space could be a great way for high sec manufacturers to supplement their zydrine and megacyte stores.
CCP should NOT remove grav sites from w-space just because a handful of players don't want to run them.

Originally by: Celia Therone Wait, do you actually mine at all? Have you looked at the grav sites that you generally find in wormholes off hi-sec space? Most of them are tiny and full of junk like scordite and pyroxeres.
All of the time I have spent mining in w-space, I was mining hemorphite, hedbergite, and jaspet. That's hardly 'junk'.
Originally by: Celia Therone Even if wormholes were 1.0 security space off Jita I wouldn't bother to scan down and mine most of the grav sites I've seen, they're that pitiful... What are you expecting people to wormhole mine in? A hulk? A mining battleship or cruiser? How many slots do you give over to fitting survivability gear like cloaks and probe launchers?
I was mining in a hulk. As far as the utilities, that's why the game is multiplayer.
Originally by: Celia Therone Seriously!? A handful of players don't want to mine w-hole grav sites? Where do you get this stuff?
From this thread obviously.
Originally by: Celia Therone There are a few people mining in w-space but of the ones that I've seen they're either clueless or... What percentage of wormhole using players do you think are actually seriously mining grav sites?
Impossible to speculate. It would be easier to speculate the percentage of EVE players that are 'clueless' as you so succinctly put it.

Let me help YOU out.
I said it provides a way to supplement your zydrine and megacyte stores. I never said anything about it being more profitable per hour. In fact I said exactly the opposite. If you're trying to earn the best isk/hour, stick to known space.
Leave the wormholes to real explorers.

Edited by: TheOnlyProphet on 17/03/2009 20:23:49 BTW for those who are having a hard time distinguishing signatures, Kirith Kodachi put together a very informative blog post about probe strength.

Thanks Kirith. This rocks. :)
