I'm currently attempting to improve my scanning skills in W-Space. However, how can I deal with all of those signatures? I bookmark everything I find... but sites expire and it gets crowded. Plus, it is extremely annoying to figure out whether a signature you found is something you've already found.
How can I deal with multiple signatures?

I've read it and already pretty much follow all the advice in there.

I did find one system that had a far too many signatures due to high concentration of planets near the sun. I wish there was a feature that allowed you to remove the sites you already found from the results, but there isn't one... You could start documenting the signatures found, and use a numbering system: after the preliminary scan with wide radius, count the number of unique sites, and as you scan them down, moving from planet to planet, count down their number until you reach null. So far I was able to somewhat keep all the signature positions in mind as I scan, but I imagine if you are in an even bigger system, it will overwhelm anyone. *-*^-^*-*^-^*-*^-^*-*^-^*-*^-^*-*^-^*-*^-^*-*^-^*-*^-^*-*^-^ By the way, I am an Ishtar and T2 sentries fan. There needs to be a feature that puts a green check or something or other next to signatures that you've already bookmarked. It wouldn't be cheating the system. It could be explained as the probes crosschecking their findings with your bookmarks.

Using two probes set to a large range either side of a given area will give you red circles for every sig inside the crossover.
If you're trying to pick out a single sig within multiple signatures youve already found, make sure only one probe is in range of those you already found, that way you can ignore red sphere signals that are only found with one probe.
Using 1-2 probes at a large range and then 2-3 smaller ones inbetween existing sigs helps too. Once you know exactly where they are you can set all probes back to the same distance.
Using a single creeping probe, inching it accross the screen while scanning, will tell you were exactly those last 1-3 sigs are as you compare the number of sites already listed on the map to the amount of sigs the probe finds.
Finding those last two sigs takes a little more time, but its not that hard. Once i know where the other X amount are, when i creep a probe and suddenly im showing 9 sigs when there should be 8, i know exactly where that last sig is.

Yeah... but in WH space, signatures expire and new ones are created.

Unfortunately, crosschecking would only be possible against 100% signal strength sites - otherwise the XYZ won't math up. *-*^-^*-*^-^*-*^-^*-*^-^*-*^-^*-*^-^*-*^-^*-*^-^*-*^-^*-*^-^ By the way, I am an Ishtar and T2 sentries fan. Fight to make the sentry damage rig work for all drones. |

While trying to find exit wormholes, I have actually taken to drawing the system map in a sketchbook, marking each real contact and then its type when I get past a 25% scan. It saves the time of bookmarking each site and actually helped me find quite a few different wormholes today. Sad that I have to do that though.

I would do that if I had >0 drawing talent... I'm thinking of running a spreadsheet while dividing the system in quadrants for anything with more then 40 signature hits. *-*^-^*-*^-^*-*^-^*-*^-^*-*^-^*-*^-^*-*^-^*-*^-^*-*^-^*-*^-^ By the way, I am an Ishtar and T2 sentries fan. Sigs only expire if someone does the sites. When i log into a system i'll warp to all my BMs to see whats still there and remove any that have been done (Wormholes, Mag, Radar, plex) then compare that to the amount of sigs in a system to see how many more im looking for. Anomalies i dont count anyway as they show at 100% straight away, so the amount of those is irrelevant. Ladar and grav sites are either permenant, last until someone mines them out or at the very least last for multiple days from what i can tell.
If you've not logged out for a protracted period of time then de and respawning sites is a none issue as you'll find them all long before any start to move. The only exception is radar and mag, but then if you already found them then you would have done them yourself and if you havnt, then you wouldnt be comparing their exsistance to any existing sigs anyway.
