Big **ing NO to this from me... What's the difference between aligning to a POS vs Aligning to a station? Nothing except that you currently can't align to a POS due to a fault in the Bookmarking UI.

The addition of the "align to" button was awesome but we need to be able to align towards stuff in space, not just on the overview. It's the little improvements that make a big difference, which most impress me about this game. Especially when CCP manages to improve on something that everyone has assumed is already as good as it ever will be. /signed

Would allow for pos's to gain some of the same advantages as stations except it would only be for known pos's.

From an implementation perspective I doubt it would be overtly difficult, bookmarks being coordinates in space the same as planets, stars and anything else you can currently align to.
