is that really the minimum max skills plus full scan loadout helios + a full set of virtues .. that seems extreme.. and lets say a previously unprobably loki set up since it would be the hardest to scan down. |

No, it's not. You don't even need maxed scanning skills with a full lg-virtue set, even off a unbonused hull. With bonused hulls (covops, probing T3s, etc.) the requirements are fairly reasonable (maxed skills or 2 or 3 lg-Virtue out of the set) but the practical results are hit-and-miss. |

thanks geoscape and mfume apocal ... and yes i am talking about a loki with eccm and the sig reducing boost running with max skills. ok so thats not too bad. I was gonna be bummed if i had to spend 2bil in implants just to scan one of these things down. And thanks for the precise numbers of 8 probes with 78.4 scan strength... awesome!

Not sure why they aren't just telling you the simple facts.
You need the LG set, complete, and a bonused hull with sisters launcher/probes. Even then it will take you some time and only someone who is afk will get caught, unless they are ********. |

why try?... eh because normally you guys have twice our numbers plus boosts so it will give me something to do why we are docked up or safed :) plus maybe i'll get lucky and you guys wont click over to your boost character since you'll be busy ganking somebody... never know :) Thanks for lettin me know i'll just go buy the full set and finish training the last scan skill i need to 5.. thanks everybody for your help. |

You can shorten the time needed to probe it down considerably by d-scanning the precise distance and angle to the T3 booster and then moving the probes over roughly where it is.
I'm guessing that most people with unprobeable boosters are multiboxing and probably won't be paying attention to the booster, especially if stuff is going on elsewhere.
However, they won't let their booster get ganked a second time, believe me, i know.
I'm going to run some tests on sisi tomorrow with various combinations of implants, probe count and probe formations. |

78.4 strength is the 10% prospector implants + the lowest 3 virtues.
I'm not so sure this is accurate since even with a full set, I need to get the probes pretty much right on top of the target and i have a probe strength of 97.
