Hi all. I am new of Cedega and i just inatlled EvE Online Apocrypha. Let me explain to you what happen, hoping someone can help me:
I installed EvE Online with cedega and the installation process have gone simply perfectly. At the end of the installation process the windows setup asked me if i want to run eve immediately and i have done it. So EvE Online started and all function perfectly. I played it for a bit, then i quit it...
Now, if a run cedega and i click on EvE Online link, nothing happen. The game wont start and i get no error. I simply click on the EvE Link and simply nothing happen. I tried to reinstall it 2 times and i get the same thing. Even the uninstall link doesn't function. I have to manually remove cedega and uninstall it via yast for uninistall eve.
Someone can help me pls? |

it's easy as pie to use wine with all the walkthroughs available. I myself have no experience with cedega as it's not free for me

This happened to me too. At first I thought it was a permissions problem, the way Cedega sets up the directory structure in /usr/lib/cedega, but no. Perhaps it's the actual link to the program within the Cedega shell, or some other small and stupid problem that Cedega should fix for the next update. I am sure that because it ran once, it can run again. One of these days I will do a better job tracing it to find out just what's happening. But one thing's for sure: let the folks at Cedega know!
In Crossover Games, installation fails at DX9 setup, so those folks have some work to do as well.
Till then, as the person above me posted, Wine is the way to go. Or even after then. It does work just fine, and it's free.

do the dx setup as the error message requests. no problems. runs very well. :)

Yes thanks for pointing that out, I forgot to mention it. Regardless, Crossover needs to fix the automatic installation process, so you don't have to see it fail, then go back in after installation to add DX9 manually.

Problem solved. I had to specify a working dir. Now all work fine and well.

For anyone else reading this who is having the same problem, can you say exactly what you did to specify the working dir to make Cedega work correctly? Thanks.
