Edited by: Flinchey on 17/03/2009 11:48:34 how is it a serverside patch when it says i have the wrong version and i need 84603
explain that one as being server side.
ED: oh yeah, mabye you should read the news.. it's not server side, it's client side
"This Tuesday, 17 March, during the regular downtime we will deploy a small patch to Tranquility. This patch will update your bulk data file which will fix a problem where downloading bulk data stalled on the EVE Online client."

The patch is up now, if you had waited another couple minutes, this thread wouldnt have happened would it?
no it isn't
why doesn't my client come up with the prompt to get the new patch like it did arount EE/QR??
and the latest version in the manual section is still 844244.
this thread would still have happened apparently :)
ED: so if its apparently up, can i get a link to it from somewhere seeing as apparently CCP doesn't want me to have it?

Originally by: CCP Navigator You can download the patch manually by clicking on this link and using the drop down menu to select version 84244.
The patch should be 3.7MB in size.
" Current Client Version: 6.10.84244 (view patch notes) "
wow, navigator... um... i've been refreshing it for 15 minutes
you just posted saying it was there even
it's not there still, box drops down to 84063 still.
"You are really testing everyones collective patience :P ... I gave you the link to download the patch, not to check server status." where
you posted a link to 'server status' navigator posted a link to the manual patch page which still doesn't have the latest patch :|:|
ED: "84609 Current - - - - 84244 2009-03-17 @ 11:05 Classic Premium Linux Mac"
as i said, all sources of usual patching aren't working for me
no auto
no manual.

Because you are downloading a test patch from the sisi collom on the right.
The TQ patches are on the left. With this being the latest patch.
Thats a good answer, thank you sir
and yes
thankyou to sleep for finally posting a DIRECT LINK to the patch :)
ED: "You ARE randomly complaining about stuff. Solutions to your problems have been offered, you've not used them." no.. nav gave a solution that didn't work you gave a solution that didn't work
though finally someone gave a solution that worked. (the direct link... how did you find it by the way?)
im glad it's been forwarded to QA.
though im still goign to complain about the manual patch page
" Current Client Version: 6.10.84244 (view patch notes) " 84063 (latest) in the dropdown box.

Edited by: Flinchey on 17/03/2009 12:23:20 i do want to know how te direct link was found.. or did someone just manually type it into the browser hoping the exe was hosted on the server? seeing as it's still not actually updated on the manual patch page.

This works, but the point is we shouldn't have to go searching for it. Boekifu.

Originally by: Rivqua Actually, I am not trolling. It's been there since oh, about one hour 10 mins ago, as I downloaded it from there then, If you TRIED to click the proper link (Premium update for 84244) you would have gotten your patch.
it only JUST THEN came up for me on that site.
so my comments were valid at the time.

half an hour later EVEo site's manual patch page still hasn't been updated
it'd seem to me itd be a logical thing to do very quickly, especially as third party sites (like that server status one) can somehow get to it first??

Sorry, but that's a blatant lie, as the patch has actually been there since yesterday you see :) You were just expecting it to be on the row that said 84609, which it obviously shouldn't be, as the column was named "Update patch from" and you click on the row that is your existing current version!
came up with 404's for me for them, i tried them just to be sure :/
they work now though, may have been my internet then.

EVEs official manual download works just fine aswell, you chose your CURRENT version (logical right, the one you are updating FROM, ie the BLUE one (latest) for MOST peoople) and then click "FIND PATCH" and it will offer you the patch for your chosen version to the current latest version.

I can confirm this is exactly what I am seeing too. (Except without the bling browser and 85 extra open tabs)
no firefox with sexy black theme?! no excessive tabbing?!?? (also, it's only 21... hah)
you haven't lived
though fortunately now in game after using that direct link.
and, im really really curious as to why both the autopatcher.. AND manual download page dont work for so many people.

The patch should be 3.7MB in size.
The links that several people here have supplied are all 900Kb. Is that right?. If not, can someone provide link to the 3.7Mb file? I'm also can't see the 84244 option in the drop down menu despite trying with both Firefox and Opera after clearing cache.
the 900kb file is a patcher that downloads the 3.6mb patch data and installs it for you. weird system yes, i know.
ED: and no im not using steam for eve, so solution wouldn't work for me
ED2: also, it's not my internet browser cache, with not being able to see the latest patch in the manual page.. i cleared firefox and tried to use the manual patch page
and tried IE (with its different cache files)
still no dice.

yep that works
so does anonasurf
seems a lot of proxies fix it
maybe it's an australian thing (CCP/EVE seems to hate australia... not getting the retail box and such.. lol) are the people having problems aussies? (ED: i'll ask my corp.. though i doubt its an aus thing seeing as most people were online when i got on..)
