I need some advice on using probes and scanning. My interest lies in finding asteroids outside of the usual belts in each system. I have scanned dozens of systems with both the old and the new probes. I have used the sun of each system as a gravity well(as was suggested) as well as other planets. Try as I might, I have found nothing in spite of all the work I have done. I figure I must be doing something wrong...or my luck is very bad! Need some help here.

It's interesting what u asking. I'm rookie and can't help u, but I want to hear wat other people say to this, why I'm searching other valuable things in the space that are not into the mouse rightbutton-click list. How did you scan resources? what skills does I need?

Like I said, I have not been successful at finding anything while scanning. In light of this fact, I don't believe I am the right guy to give you advice. I would love to hear from someone that has done this and has actually found roids and belts and all that great stuff!

Edited by: Athena Maur on 17/03/2009 22:00:58 Edited by: Athena Maur on 17/03/2009 21:59:24 the new scanning is simple to get to grips with. what i normaly do is Warp to Planet 1 Drop 1 probe set this to 32.AU hit scan if there is something in the system ull see it now clcik on your result and u will see a red sphear in your scan now shrink ur sphear around this and drop mpore probes.
here is a link that u might find interesting its basicly a howto http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rwBqnXruZuo
