"XXXXXX has no another missions for you right now"
is it a bug?

If you decline a storyline, you have to work another 16 missions to get another. Or if you meant it wouldn't let you decline it, doesn't matter, just let it expire.

This actually does matter. I had a great Republic Military School agent giving me combat storylines fairly regularly (which give better faction gains) but then gave me an anti-Amarr one which I didn't want to do because I need that faction as well. I'd gladly decline it and wait 16 more missions but I can't, and now it bounces over to another agent several systems away who gives me nothing but trade and courier.

you can now let it expire, with not accepting it, with no penalty.

Yes, but it's f'n stupid: I used to be able to decline storylines I didn't want to do. Now, I can't, and the only 'option' is to wait for it to expire. MEANWHILE, I've done approximately 52 missions since I received that storyline that I'm now waiting on to expire. You don't get other storylines offered by the same storyline agent because, hey, they didn't change that part of it: You can still only have 1 storyline offer per storyline agent at a time.
I've petitioned this, and of course, the GM who has responded has said "WAIT FOR IT TO EXPIRE, WORKING AS INTENDED". Of course it's broken, much like anything else in EVE that you actually expected to just work. They can't make a change to anything without breaking it's previous behaviour horribly, and it all comes down to them being too lazy to fix it. Pure bullshít.

I have 5 agents over 2 stations and run explicitly for storylines to fix some faction. As such I complete objectives fast and have a high mission turnover rate (not docking every mission or even every other is huge). 16 mission is nothing, and waiting a whole week to use my well placed advisory agent because I can't tell him no is, to agree with the op, complete garbage.

@Namco : with another 52 missions, you have enough for at least 3 other storylines ... have you tried to decline the first one to see if they "stack" on the agent ?

Yup, tried it, and no, it's not an option. A storyline agent won't give you another mission if you already have one from him/her. Attempting to decline does not fix this. It's horribly broken, and is yet another in a long string of undocumented changes that CCP makes every time they fk with things that work just fine as they are.

I believe it will. I noticed letting normal missions expire now slaps you with both a corp and faction hit whereas before it was no different than simply refusing the mission.
This could be a giant nerf in disguise. I guess I'll find out what the 'delay' button does as my missions list gets infinitely larger...
Edit: 'delay' button does absolutely squat. It's just an alias for the 'x' to close the convo window.

That sucks outright. When in missionrunning mood I get storyline every 3 h and so far have quite often declined those I don't like or don't consider worthy of my time (a la 40k m3 into low sec thru regularly camped system).
And now I'm supposed to drag my equipment all across EVE to do some storyline I might actually consider worth doing (and what will not be worth if it's that far away ofc)?

I can confirm that letting them expire doesn't give faction hits, let two lvl 3's expire and not a whit was lost. Does suck, though, for those who like to do storylines not being able to ditch the sucky ones to run the decent ones without going halfway across the game to do it.

hey hey
havent storylines always just moved to the next closest agent ?
I used to deliberatly queue up a storyline with my local agent and get a second storyline with the next agent in the storyline queue.
if the storylines no longer move and stack onto the same agent until it expires then that is up **** creek

You always lost corp and faction from letting a mission expire, at least as long as I have been doing it.

Yes and still do.
Quote: I used to deliberatly queue up a storyline with my local agent and get a second storyline with the next agent in the storyline queue.
Why would you do this other than simply to not do storylines at all?
But, yeah. These forums seriously need some indicator that the post has ended and the sig has started. |

Because storyline agents are associated with corporations just like all other agents and give huge standing gains by comparison with normal missions.

exactly.
if you know which order the storylines will go to then you can effectivly choose which corp your storyline comes from. you have to be carefull the first few times you try it because you dont know where you will get sent.
you can also use this method to get a better storyline mission if your closest agent is in a mining/courrier division and your next one over is combat based.
check my ingame standings and you will see how high they are :)

It's an intended game mechanics for NORMAL agents only, but not for storyline agents, obviously, cuz they don't work with the player the same way.
For normal agents: you decline the mission if you don't want to do.
For storyline agents: you cannot decline the mission.
I want to decline a storyline mission too
If was intended the "impossibility of declining a mission" it would be applied for all agents, don't you think, CCP? Be your journeys long and prosperous. Treat the others as you like to be treated. Rude and fool are enemies. |

Can't decline R&D agents missions either, but since the offer says it expires in an hour and they only give one mission per day, doesn't matter as much as the storyline agent issue.
Bottom line they need to fix the issue.

Hi
I would just like to add my voice to the fact that it is stupid to not allow you to decline Storylines.
I am currently doing missions for my research toon, so want standings for R&D agents. To have to wait a week when I get a faction hit mission, means that the next SL agent will most likely be a different corp
Generally I have no problems with what CCP has done. But this was not mentioned in the patch notes and should be fixed
