Hey guys, i know from past experience that you used to be able to extract the eve music from the resMusic or resSound or whatever .stuff file but it no longer exists? Instead there is a folder named res with a number of .ogg vorbis sound file, but these seem to be encrypted so they can only be played using the music.bnk soundbank. Just wondering if theres any technowizards who know a way to get the eve music out into tracks such as Ambient01.ogg or whatever so i can play them.
Thanks, aNF

Isn't this the same thing as going to a bands website and asking them how to pirate their music? ;)

Except only a few tracks are on the soundtrack CD...it's hugely old. I want the new stuff!

I looked into this a bit and it looks like it's still OGG wrapped into an RIFF WAV file way. It shouldn't be too hard to write a little program that reconstructs the OGG out of the RIFF file. I might actually be able to do it myself but I haven't had any time to do it yet.
For the programmers under us, there is an RIFF interface in the win32 lib. I/O interface documentation here. Haven't been able to find a program to do extract this yet though.
If I do find some time and write a program, you guys will be one of the first to know. _

I pay SIRIUS $15/month for their satilite radio. Doesn't mean i can record all the songs they play.

But they also gives you thousands upon thousands of songs and talk radio and the news and so much more, over hundreds of channels. ;) And recording stuff is what the internet is for. We just want to be able to listen to EVE's music without being in EVE mostly. The majority of the music is available in the in-game music box after all. - - - Aloriana Jacques - Skill Sheet

I would except for the fact, much as was mentioned above, it's quite out of date. - - - Aloriana Jacques - Skill Sheet

I hope posting that link isn't against the ToS or anything...It's still out of date I think, but less so than the soundtrack.

I haven't had a resMusic.stuff files for the longest time, but I do have a Music.stuff, and have done since I started playing.
I don't think it has the new music files from Apocrypha though. -----

Actually it does. You can record everything and are free to keep it for private use.

I don't think all the music files are there...not to mention I'm not sure I want to bother downloading a bunch of music I already have on my computer, especially individually!

Edited by: wolfbuzz on 18/03/2009 19:08:23 No, it is not all there. But you said you wanted the EVE Music. Most of the good stuff is there, and TBH I don't know why you want the other stuff.
If you want to spend the four hours necessary to build the software to get the music from .stuff file, go for it. There you can download those tracks in under 15 minutes.
15 minutes, 4 hours. Your choice friend, I was just trying to save you some time.
PS Do not try to pull the "Already on my computer" crap. Modern computers have GB upon GB of space. There is something wrong with you if you run out of space.

You're getting ripped off, just join Pandora or last.fm or spotify and get the music for next to nothing or free.

The files on the above link are not the same as the ingame music.
for example Merchants, looters and ghosts has the BPM set way too slow causing the song to last nearly 7 minutes compared to the ingame version which lasts just over 4 minutes.

Actually, hollywood has already lost that battle. Recording TV or radio is not stealing, copyright violation or pirating - it is time shifting. It is legal so long as you do not redistribute it, and do not show it to others.
