1. It's lonely. 2. It's frustrating. 3. It's getting more and more difficult for us lone wolves to play at all. 4. There isn't much you can do solo.
Do like I did and find a corp who don't insist you join in all the time. Our corp name was indicative of our tolerance for solo players. However, there were times when joining in with an op of some sort was more fun than trying to play Eve solo.

These corps that are soloing-compatible, wouldn't they have the issue of no strong objectives and goals? The two appear to conflict. And with no goals, what is the point in joining? -

Hmm...might as well.
1: Get a hairy gangmate. 2: Don't trust any guy with a helmet. 3: No matter what the old geezer says, it's not a routine mission. 4: The guy's her brother, don't worry.
My opinions represent the opinions of my corporation completely. I'm the CEO damnit. |

at very least, you should get 2nd account and dualbox
2nd account is needed for scouting and tackling - as the blobs are getting bigger and recent agility boost makes it very hard to catch anything by yourself
Wrong... Especially since Apocrypha, solo is FUN!

Many have goals but don't insist that everyone puts in their full time effort to attain them. It would be "expected" that you help out occasionally but anyone who expects your full time attendance simply wants a slave.
My old corp was in an alliance so most of the time our guys flew with other alliance guys so there was always a presence where it was needed. Since every corp will have a certain tax level, even mission runners are welcome as it boosts the corp wallet as well so your solo pursuits are not always benefitting you alone, they atill have some benefit to the whole corp. Even carebears have their place mining ore in highsec or even ice means that you can offer some or all to the corp for maufacturing or POS fuel purposes. It just depends on how you wish to play and what role you feel more suited to.

High dps interceptor, target t1 cruisers and frigs, haulers, miners. Keeps you active and entertained, makes iskies, proper target selection can minimize your risk.
Yea, that's pretty much being a pirate, unles you are into mining and /or production or trading, pirating is going to be your gig when solo. Unless of course you can wage warfare against corps and alliances as a one man army.
Missions are great for soloers, exploration is usually ok solo, minus wormholes I would say. You could run a business offering a service perhaps.. "I'll hunt down and kill "so and so" for isk". "I'll sit in your mission and guard you from mission gankers for a cut".
Solo has it's options for sure, mostly missioning and pirating if you aren't industry inclined.

Solo rocks.
However, if you're not used to being a lone wolf, you're probably better off in a small corp with like-minded individuals.
My corps have had various lone wolves in it at various times. We like to help people understand about the mechanics, but we don't force our agenda on you.
Read my blog if you'd like to see what we've been up to. We don't take the game seriously. We pay for this game (as you do) to have something entertaining to do.
If you'd like, convo me in-game. Solo is not dead.

I've been doing it for 4 years now and have been quite successful. You would be surprised what you can accomplish on your own if you try. ...
Inspired by your confidence in solo success I thought I should see what I might hope to aspire to one day. So I looked you up on battleclinic and was sad to see you've got 0 kills and 2 losses on the battle clinic killboard.

Because naturally pvp kills is the only measure of one's success .

Myopia: Myopia is the medical term for nearsightedness. People with myopia see objects more clearly when they are close to the eye, while distant objects appear blurred or fuzzy. Reading and close-up work may be clear, but distance vision is blurry

LMAO@ above poster.
Indeed, of all the people that are least likely to have their kill and loss details on full view in the public domain, solo pvp'ers come pretty high up the tree.
if you disagree with me then you should probably post a response and stop reading my signature. |

I love the game, there is really nothing else like it out there, however I don't know if I can either find want I want working solo, or find a corp thats looking for a highly qualified slacker with a minor drink problem :p
I'm not massively into making money, just like playing, feeling 'immersed' in the game if you see what I mean.
Any ideas gratefully recieved.

Nothing wrong with solo, been doing it at least 2/3 my time in Eve. You just get kind of closed out after lo-sec and even in some since one person can't really defend themselves against more.
Grind standing in missions, drop a research pos, become a regional trader, pirate, start random wars with corps and see how long you can survive.. you may not be able to hold your own solo in established areas of 0.0, but there's plenty to do.
If you really wanted to, you could scout out areas deep in 0.0, find a system that doesn't get much traffic, build up a HAC and go ratting.
Destroy all that which is evil, so that which is good may flourish. |
