So I'm about to take my new prorator out into the deep beyond and try to establish myself as a deep space trader, and I'm looking at implants to maximize my gate camp evasion abilities.
Halo gives a bunch of sig radius bennies snake is speed.
I'm thinking the sig radius means if someone forces me to uncloak, I have just a little more time to try to warp out. I suppose crystal or slave are also options assuming I am taking damage as I rush for the edge of a shield.
So I guess which of these worst case situations is most likely? I'm getting implants for the situations where I hit a gate camp where cloak just isn't enough for some reason.
1. Stumble onto a well run camp, everyone's orbiting at 12k with drones out , corpes everywhere, and maybe a bubble is up, so my cloak is fail. But maybe the Halo will have fewer ships lock me before I get to the edge of the bubble and if a HIC is using doom beam, I can warp out before he locks. I'm leaning towards halo.
2. Like 1, but HIC doesn't bother to use doom beam, he just bubbles and attempts to MWD and keep pace with me, so maybe the Snake would be best, if it makes enough of a difference to move faster than the HIC before he decides to switch to beam. --

I get your point, but there is no implants and boosters forum, so this seemed the best bet. --

You missed my point, because I was merely making a joke related to the title of the thread, not attempting to imply the thread didn't belong. I would offer a useful answer, but I'm terrible at making decisions, so in your place I'd probably just sit there deciding which to use until my subscription expired. Actually, in truth, questions like this are one reason I don't use implants. I'd never be able to decide which ones to get. -

If you run into a well run camp, neither should help. You may gain a slight edge with Halo, but it won't matter if you do get locked and tackled, which even will a full halo set won't be dificult for a decent assault ship or inty - especially if you're in a hauler.
Waste of money IMHO.
Unless your trading in a BS, crystal and snake are only gonna double your 30 second lifespan, which still won't be enough to get out of a bubble.
If you're not trading in a hauler, get a blockade runner and save money on those implants.

Halo. small sig makes it harder for people to target you, and if they do it makes it harder to hit you. snakes were great, but Halo imo would fit you better.

heh the way I read your topic led me to believe you were asking for a debate between Halo(the 1st person shooter xbox series) or Snake from the playstation metal gear series, or snake the centipede game for the cellphone. Either way that would have been hilarious. |

Edited by: SDragoon on 19/03/2009 06:35:22 Depends on the gate and what's on it tbh. If it's a gate with no bubbles, nomad implants are by far your best bet. You'll align for warp much faster. The reason it's better then halo is simple. When it comes down to the line for gate tackling, most of the delay is cause by overview lag, human reaction delay and module lag. Locking delay is only a small portion of the delay when you are talking dedicated tacklers. It's often that a ship spends 2 seconds just dealing with lag and delays and only 1 second locking. Nomad effects all of these as your total vulnerable time is reduced significantly. Where as Halo may buy you half a second as they only effect lock time.
As for bubbled gates, snakes are probably your best bet. You'll want to get out of the bubble as fast as possible. Of course nomads will help a little here as well since your ship will accelerate noticeably faster.

running two clients or a corp mate u can trust to scout ahead for u for a return of profits. One scout one the trader will probably save more isk than all the implants
Or making use of wormholes

Halo is okay, but if you want to play an FPS try Half Life 2. Greatest FPS of all time. I'm still hoping that CCP will abandon ambulation and just load HL2 death match when we get out of our pods. Win a specified number of rounds and get to take control of the station. That is the game I have been dreaming of my hole life.

Hrm, I didn't see Nomads, probably because they don't have a standard version, or is the standard version only available on contracts? Everything I see on market is low-grade. But you're right, I only was looking at halo because I didn't see any agility implasts.
Oh my, even in Jita most nomad slots aren't even being sold and for some slots the price is quite steep. --
