We haven't heard about you in a while man. Where ya been? Talk to us about agents, shiva, late night beer drinking behind the woman's back...Bring it on!
"The human species suffers from a dimensional limitation. They are not able to understand that matter and mind are just one aspect of something more fundamental. We must strive to expand our perspective so we can see what our true reality is." Deep toughts by Mr.Pops, while consuming large quantities of Blue Pill and staring at the EVE gate in Genesis.

Last time he show up when promice lvl4 agents become active "next week". That was in April.
Belive he is too ashamed to show again, but if it is a case, I have a note for him:
Dont worry, be happy, and come to us

I just got tired of all the negative vibes.
Since I'm by no means obligated to even read the forums, I decided to opt out and leave the tech support in the hands of the people who are actually supposed handle it.
Once a significant amount of the new agent stuff for Shiva hits some test cluster, I'll probably resurface for a while, at least on IRC.

yeah - if people were not getting an implant every mission or some insanly rich bonus they were moaning. As it stands, missions are one of the best earners ingame with minmial risk and tonnes of bonuses. Its a shame there were so many idiots who could not figure out how to fight Zor, bring him back...someday!
Hope you enjoyed your holiday anyway!

As a professional software developer and a casual Eve player I can honestly say that I feel sorry for the developers of this game. I used to read the forums often when I first started the game, trying to learn things that would help me.
To be honest, all I learned is that the majority of the people that post on this board are extremely whiny people. It seems to me that the majority of the problems that occur with the game are a result of some action taken because of the extreme levels of crying that go on these forums.
The fact that the developers interact with these forums at all is a miracle. Most developers wouldn't. I know for a fact I wouldn't come here if I worked for CCP. All of the developers for this game have my admiration and respect for the crap they put up with from these boards. I just hope they realize that the majority of the people here do not represent the majority of the people that play the game.
Some of us actually don't complain about nearly everything in the game. :) ---------------

Will be much appreciated. I know it helped us a great deal when Castor was being tested...damn did I spent much there
Was sad to see you leave IRC, but can't really blame you. Did so myself for half a year...
Anyways, good to have you back and hope your holiday provided you with some fresh spirit to once again help the flockless sheep |

It's a shame you weren't about a couple of weeks ago when some new missions were dropped in. Most of us mission runners would have quite happily had your babies that week.
Keep your chin up and design us some even more entertaining missions.
Oh, I haven't had an implant for ages, but I understand it's random. (expects my first two missions tonight to be implant drops)

You sound pretty whiney yourself. Just because say they dislike something does not mean they dislike the entirety. People pay money to play, they invest their time in the things they like, and if they see that thing go a direction they dont like they voice their concerns. It really ****es me off when I hear people like you completely demean those who have objectionable opinions. I especially dislike your "I am the only one in these forums that can understand you grief dev" whorish attitude. You, my friend, are whats wrong. Your only purpose here is to flame those who have legitimate gripes.
Frankly, people are passionate and say things they dont mean. You take it with a grain of salt. After all, I assume most of these developers are making the game that THEY invisioned and want others to partake in their vision. If I was a dev, I would much rather have people state their complaints rather then leave the game altogether. I mean, really, who the hell complains about something they don't care about? I doubt there is a simple person here that completely hates Eve. People are just more inclined to complain than praise because when things works right its harder to notice. Not everyone here is a developer and knows the difficulty of making a game like Eve--All we see is the end product.

umm, slightly confused (near permenant state these days). If Papa Smurf is like the top dude for mission codings and stuff, shouldnt he be reading all these posts and stuff? I know there are alot of negative people out there, but there are some good points made in amongst these posts and the dev team might be wise to consider, if not implement, some of the better ideas. One of the biggest resources in this game is its players and they should be listened too.
BTW, is it possible to remove troll posts without closing the entire thread?

Jessica Papa is the bug developer. HIs job is everything. He is a very well versed dev on all aspects of the game. He ties everything together behind the scenes. Soo no he is the last man to touch the code and the first to fix it.
I consider his job the most painful. He offers new ideas to the devs but does none of the fun exploring of new content. All the power to Papa.
He will be notified by the bug forums sniffers and look into the problem. --------------------------

Personally it would be nice if the complaints at least made sense. I know a guy that has played since Beta and every patch he comes on forums and posts his "OMFG THEY NEFRED THE GAME AGAIN" or "LOST SHIP TO BUG,DEVS ARE STUPID".
Ok so you got something to say, why does it have to be insulting? I have yet to meet any other human being that doesn't tune out people that start off a conversation with "I think you suck" or something to that nature.
Lately these forums have been filled with meaningless BS posts about nothing. Constructive critisism is one thing, just being down right insulting is something all together different. An what really ****es me off personally is you a-holes that hide behind freedom of speech.
Look at last patch, even after CCP said that missles changes were a mistake that was not supposed to have happened. People still spent 3 days whining about it and calling devs stupid. Even after the problem had been fixed!!
Grain of salt my a$$, if anyone said half the crap people post to the devs here to just about anyone of us. We would beat them till someone pulled us off them. 2005.01.21 05:09:06combatYour Tachyon Beam Laser I perfectly strikes Blood Priest, wrecking for 533.1 damage. |

Welcome back :)

At the time there were Issues with the tech 2 items roll out people with very low rps were getting 2 blueprints which should have been virtually impossible (but could happen very rarely) but wasn't nothing was heard for about a month the sticked thread got locked then this one appeared.
Papas last post
Really Papa can choose weither to read these threads or not I don't really care would make his job easier as the mining agent exploit thread or the lack of blueprints in certain fields (were bugged) or they many mission related bugs that get uncovered by us players is here he can either Hide away do his bug hunting and stuff and avoid us or take a leaf out of Zrakor's or Oveur's or Tomb's book

Papasmurf used to be the king dev of player interaction, posting almost as much in the missions forum as some players did .. but alas a lot of the er spitefull? people came to realize it and soon there was a massive amount of nasty spam aimed at him .. I dont blame the dude one bit for choosing to opt out of it (and if your reading this, you rock papa!)
As far as I'm concerned papa's work has had about the least problems and bugs out of pretty much the whole of eve, and papa's interactions in the past have been very honest, open-minded and thoughtfull, willing to talk over ideas and take good ones.
The lottery is a system that by its sheer size, odds and low interaction causes people to wonder a lot, about how it works, if it is working etc .. the forum also causes people with extreme examples to come forward where the majority of normal examples go unmentioned, causing a perception that things are worse than they may actually be.
I mean I've not seen a single person say they got two BP's since what december ? and yet people still complain :( No wonder papa hides :( . ----- Apologys for any rambling that may have just occurred.
