If i select a Npc Pirate ship and use any one of the many ways to "Lock Target" the counter goes and reaches it's finish... but no picture shows up at the top of my screen, if try to fire the cursor becomes the cross hair as if I have no target. If I try to fire by selecting a weapon then a target, the counter sometimes goes other times just flashes on then off... what gives guys? I sent a petition and got no answer in about 24 hours now.

Ok I've deleted the cache via the in game option, no effect. Deleted the cache manually, no effect. I removed all traces of Eve and reinstalled, no effect.

There is no "lite" version anymore the two are integrated from what I understand.
I did just notice the RAM requirement has went up to 1g, if that is why nothing is working right I may be able to solve that. I'll try that next, the rest of my system is above minimal requirements.

Is your CPU SSE compliant?
I have the same problem, caused by a non-SSE CPU, and old pc.dat settings deleted.
I also cannot drag and drop items.
New CPU or PC required, I`m afraid!

No it's not SSE compliant but that is just a sound issue isn't it? I really hope thats not the full issue. We shouldn't be punished this much for having a amd cpu! Hope they make it 3dnow! compatible quick here.

Its not for having an AMD CPU that your being so called "punished" its for having SUCH and OLD CPU. PC gaming is a hobie, and one that needs to have upgrades to keep up with software that uses said upgrades. Yes its a vicious circle, and can be costly as well. But it is a luxury hobbie.
Consoles on the other hand keep the same old crappy hardware for 5+ years without neededing to upgrade.

Edited by: Dakeen on 22/03/2009 23:08:56 You didn't answer my question, is it really the fact I don't have SSE or is it my lack of ram? One I can solve easy the other not so much.

To put it straight: your CPU is to old. And it sounds as if you dont have enough ram, but that is not cause for your problems.

So even if I up my ram to 1g it won't help? I meet or exceed every other requirement, except the hidden SSE.

No it isnt, seriously. Its slow, old and outdated. You cant expect a gmae company you support every version, cuts have to be made somewhere. AND a 6 year old graphics card and CPU is beyond help. EVEN consoles have more up to date hardware than that. ALL you can do is buy a new PC, youll have to mkae money for it ------------------------------------- Read my bio ingame for tips on how to live and not be called nasty names by me. |

Ok heres a update.. at some seemingly random point everything (except sound) started working as it should. This happened shortly after i used a friends computer one day. Not sure if everything worked right away after that because i did not try, but a couple days later i happened to move something and it worked. Now after this latest patch everything is broken again. So went over to me friends house and used his computer again played for an hour or so, came home and i'm still broken
What gives?! Everything will be better in 20 days or so as i will be receiving a new computer then. but for now this really sucks!
