I was about to set my Gallente Indy skill to lvl 5 when I got to thinking. When Shiva comes out and mobile refineries come on the scene, will hauling to the refinery station still be worth the time? I'd really like some kind of Dev answer before I start investing anymore of my training time/money towards deep space hauling. Will mobile refineries make Itty 5 pilots obsolete

I reckon you'll probably need indy 5 for the mobile refs anyway, same as you need frig 5 to fly an interceptor.

Well since pos arent ships I would leave that one open for now. It might be a prequisite but I hionestly doubt puting indy 5 as preq for a new station skill makes any sense.
My guess is we get a new skillset altogether that uses industry skills and station management as prequisites only.
Anyway, refineries can only be anchored at moons, so hauling there is still needed. Aside from that you will probably want to remove the refined minerals to an NPC station asap as well since pos can be destoyed or towed away. Even in high sec this will be an issue, IF pos make it into high sec at all btw.

Mobile refinerys are anchored to a location you stock up tons of minerals in them. Then instead of slowing down your operation you have one hauler to take all of that crap back to a place to sell or multiple ones to split it up so if one is lost its not a big loss.
