Dreads cost 1.5+ bil, plus the capital mods are 50m each, and they do less damage than a tier1 BS when not in siege mode or against anything moving 3m/s or faster.
You might have a point with the Moros ONLY, which can put out like 1100 dps with sentries, but that's for dock/undock games only. --

lo, im in the same boat atm, looking for a solo pvp bs to have some fun in :P but unless your ephemeron with his 37284723 billion faction fit nightmares and alt multitasking skills, its pretty hard, ive been trying out ravens recently - dual neut, disruptor with cruise but the dps is just to craptacular to swing any engagments where your outnumbed a little.
Last time out i was owned by nothing more then light ecm drones lol, so my guess is drone domi is the way to go just because it is so versitile.
Some nice fits here will have to put them to use soon, but i havnt given up on my beloved raven just yet :(( maybe burn eden guys can give me some pointers??

Actually, it is a skill thing, not the SP though - your personal way of PvP. SP have very little to do with successful PvP, you can get kills flying T1 frigates if you use specific tactics. It's more about knowing the game mechanics, what people do and don't, common mistakes, knowing how your ship handles itself etc. If you think in terms of "the best fit evah", chances are you'll get ****d time after time. Instead, you might wanna try this line of reasoning:
1) who are my potential targets? 2) how can I exploit statistically common behavior these targets exhibit? 3) where does this behavior put them for interception (gate, complex, mission, station) 3) how can I best fit to exploit that behavior (in that location)?
As for asking others, there is a PvP Course from Agony Empire, which is useful to take even if you have some experience. Other than that, it's practice, practice and then some more practice, starting with the cheapest setups possible. If you really can't stand flying a Rifter, take an interceptor or an assault frigate and go to 0.0.

This pretty much. No matter how much you spend on it a close-range BS is not a solo pvp ship. You might get a kill or two until you run into an enemy gang that wipes the floor with you.
The key for a solo pvp ship is speed and being able to get out of engagements if you need to (ie staying outside of scram range is good). Good starting solo pvp ships would be Arbitrator, Thorax, Vexor, Rupture, Caracal (roughly in that order imo). If you insist on going T2 right off the bat then Zealot, Cerberus, Pilgrim, Ishtar, Vagabond are all capable. You could also go with something like an Ishkur or Taranis, both of which are a lot of fun. You could also go with less conventional tactics like camping a small drag bubble with a force recon, using a snipe HAC to pick off tacklers on gate camps, etc.
Bottom line is bigger is not better, use tactics and creativity rather than zomg I gotz da deeps. Damage output is important for killing before support arrives, but speed and ewar are just as important if not more so. EFT is a useful tool, but is not a PvP guide. Having the highest EFT numbers never actually means you win.
If you're just looking to station hump then go buy a carrier and be bored in that. CEO, Agony Unleashed |

Big (Especially Shiny and Big) Will attract a lot of attention, it is best to pick something with a 'GTFO' factor instead of a big EFT warrior mobile. Because it will die to a blob eventually and that will be absolutely no fun what so ever. A SIG FOR U! |

Yet to actually fly it myself (only got CS I...) but I've seen some interesting things about the Sleipnir. Can do horrible damage and tank enormous amounts between the shield boost bonus and a bit of speed, theoretically able to take on even heavy battleships, while still having the agility to GTFO if necessary. -

Only Does 900 dps before drones (1050 with 5x hammers) but this motha with a slave set has 240,000 EHP, with it being a battleship is insurable to make cost or reimbursing easier and also spending money on the slaves may prove more useful if you in low sec, cant pod u. And easily changing crystals around for ranges.

Doesn't fit the 'highest damage' part and tbh if I were to pimp it, I would only buy the RF point, but this will solo any non-passive tanked BS in 1v1 (even neuting domis, as heavy neuts hit up to 25km but the disruptor goes as far as 30km). It can also take on two or maybe even three non-drone boat BS, as long as there's only one minmatar/caldari one, but you have to destroy their drones. BCs will be extremely easy, just avoid passive drakes as you can't break their tank. Recons and HACs will either run or die, but Arazu/Lachesis might give you problems. As for HICs, phobos will be easy, but you won't break the onyx or broadsword.
The truth is that there's no ship that will solo all those. A pimped BS will own other BS and BCs (maybe even HICs), but won't do much to HACs or Recons. A pimped CS will own BCs, BS and low sec fitted HICs, but HACs will just bail and it might get killed by a properly flown Recon (such as a curse). I myself solo a few BS, BCs, all recons but curse, and HACs with my Vagabond - the advantage being that if I can't do it, I just bail.

If you have the skills to "fly them all over my mains." then you know the answer already and this thread fails
It doesn't matter what ship you fly, it's how you fly it. I have seen an AF (Wolf/Jag) take down BS (Raven), A Myrm solo a Domi etc..all kinds of small ships take down much bigger ships. If you need DPS then fly whatever race BS you have at V, whatever T2 guns/missle you have, T2 damage mods with a side order of T2 drones you can fit and go kill.
