Hmm, september 30th is the last date at which the deadline could be made.
CCP only patch on tuesdays in general. And certianly a large expansion will be at the start of a week as to not have an unplayable weekend.
How much time does that leave exactly for testing on that new large open testing server they talked about ?
5 weeks cannot be enough for testing. And that fanfest blog makes it a sure thing:
Shiva will be delayed again, most probably untill early november.
As far as I care Shiva comes in in Januari. I'll either be here or not. But ccp should be making an effort at making this clear, not at sticking their head in the sand and trying to put the problem of telling us off.

Probably are asleep because deleted post or not CCP sent an e-mail to everyone saying that Shiva would be a main attraction at their FanFest at the end of October. The pretty much means early November assuming it doesn't slip further.
I really hope the Marketing Department at CCP is not running things because a push back to a November release makes sense to Marketing weenies. Getting close to the holiday season (more time off for many people to play), suck in more players who get EVE as a present, try and keep players from moving to Everquest II supposedly due out around then (and maybe WoW). If this is a Marketing decion then EVE is in big trouble. Marketers calling the shots almost always seem to be the kiss of death to a game.

Spring doesn't start on january first now does it :) Oh yeah Blue pill...Melchiorre still wants to kill you. SO whenever you are ready to stop hiding in high sec space perhaps a dual shall be in order? or just a ganking... |

also...
on the fanfest page it describes a "Shiva Under the Hood Presentation (SUHP)"
this implies the first Shiva patch will of already been released and the Devs will be presenting their future plans for it ...
... or in the case of the delay this could turn from presentation to preview
what i think?
CCP are covering their (deployable) bases in case they do have to delay ... at the moment they're not sure

That's reading a LOT into one statement.
There's a big difference between saying they're previewing Shiva, and what is actually stated, i.e. how Shiva works, probably from a design and implementation standpoint (boring, I know, but die hard fans seem to like this stuff), and a look at some of it's "secrets", whatever that means.
